⛳️ PARISH GOLF DAY ⛳️
Congratulations to the inaugural winner of the Powburn Trophy — John Geraghty! 🏆
The trophy was played for today over the Portland Course between parishioners from Our Lady of the Assumption and St Meddan's Church,and St Quivox.

Conditions were tough, with high winds and blustery showers, so many thanks to all the players who persevered in such difficult conditions.

A special mention must go to our 90-year-old parishioner, John from Troon, who completed all 18 holes and came agonisingly close to a hole-in-one on the 10th! Absolutely amazing! 👏⛳

Congratulations again to John Geraghty, and well done to everyone who took part.

For all young people in P6–S6

📅 Sunday 6th September

After Mass, we’ll meet in the church hall for a drink and snack before catching the 1:08pm train from Troon to Ayr.

🎳 2:00pm Bowling
🍔 2-course meal & drink included (slushies too!)

💷 Cost: £12 per child

📍 Collection: Troon Station at 4:30pm

📱 Children will be able to stay in touch with their parents throughout the afternoon.

- A Joyous Celebration in Our Parish-

What a wonderful and joyful occasion in our parish today, with a packed church at the 11.15am Mass as we celebrated three very special occasions.

- Two beautiful twin babies were baptised and welcomed into our community of faith.

- We gave thanks and offered a special blessing for all our young altar servers, with two of our servers also being promoted to senior altar servers.

- We celebrated and blessed our young people as they journey through important transitions in their education and lives — our P1 children beginning school, our P7 pupils moving on to secondary school, and those leaving school and embarking on their next chapter.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make today such a joyful and memorable occasion for our parish community. It was truly wonderful to celebrate these milestones together.

37 years ago this evening, our founder Fr Martin Chambers was ordained a priest for the RC Diocese of Galloway in St Mary’s Irvine. We remember Fr Martin today and we pray for more vocations in our diocese and throughout Scotland🙏
