Westminster Synodal Pathway -

Our Listening Journey at Corpus Christi.

The Holy Father, Pope Francis has launched a worldwide 'Synod'
( simply means journey) process. He is asking us to listen deeply to one another and to discern what God is say to the Church as we journey together. The parishes of Westminster are having their own synodal pathway. Then after national and continental gatherings, the Synod of Bishops will gather in Rome 2023 to reflect on what has been heard.

This is your chance to talk about your concerns and will be listened to!

There will be 3 sessions of Listening.

When:
Session 1, Sunday 21 November.
Session 2, Sunday 28 November.
Session 3, Sunday 5 December.

Where: Church Hall.
Why: To give the Parish the opportunity to speak and be listened to!
How Long: Approx 1 hour after 9 am Mass.

Come to this Mass or turn up at the Hall 10 - 10.15am.
There will be tea/coffee, biscuits etc.

Who is invited?
YOU!
YOUR FAMILY, whether they go to Mass or not - we need to hear their voices. They have something of value to contribute.

YOUR FRIENDS - Catholic or not. They may have a perspective that we could learn from.

Everyone-and All are Welcome!!

There will be more info at the back of church.

Look forward to seeing you!

It's Counting season! For the next few weeks our Mass numbers are being counted and recorded.
As the Mass times are limited while Fr Sean is away the numbers are not truely reflecting the numbers of people who attend Mass.
I fact there may be several reasons why you may not have been able to attend Mass BUT....
You may wonder what the Covid rules are -
- There is no need to book now.
- We still use the hand sanitiser.
- We can sit on every bench now.
- We still wear face masks but they are not compulsory.
NB Fr Sean has been very ill (Covid, Shingles, Septicaemia) therefore I think it would be a thoughtful act to wear a mask for his sake.
If, by chance, you do not know the Mass times -

Saturday vigil Mass 6pm.
These are the dates
Saturday 9 October
Saturday 16 October
Saturday 23 October
Saturday 30 October
Beginning November -
Fr Sean hopefully should be back and ready to move into the Presbytery in Langdon Street.
Mass times will then be reassessed and there will be a Sunday Mass probably not 12.15 but something more family friendly.

It will be lovely to see you and help swell our numbers!!
Please ignore the smiley at the top - I can't get rid of it!

This coming weekend we welcome our new parish priest, Fr. Sean Thornton.
I think we can all say that we hope he will be happy in his new life here.🙏⛪️

This weekend we are saying farewell to Fr David at a 'Bring and Share' Farewell Party after the 6pm Mass this Saturday 31 July.

Food will be in the Hall ( we will be wearing masks indoors) and will eat in the garden.

Help would be appreciated in setting up on Saturday afternoon, 2pm onwards. We need help with gazebo's, setting out tables, chairs, bunting, lights(possibly)etc.

Food can be brought in the afternoon.

We still need one or two things - serving spoons, a food warmer, and flowers, if you can spare any from your garden that would be great.

Many thanks, Tricia.

A Prayer for Prince Philip.
(courtesy of Redemptorist Publications)

Listen, kindly to our prayers, O Lord,
and, as our faith in your Son,
raised from the dead, is deepened,
so may our hope of resurrection for your departed servant,
Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh also find new strength.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever,

Amen.
