All Saints Cake Stall at Long Marston Village Show on Saturday 2nd August from 2pm. We would appreciate donations of cakes, biscuits etc., [homemade or bought] please and also be grateful for any offers of help with the stall. It's that time of year when the cool air inside All Saints' comes in to its own (less so during January...) the church is open today and tomorrow should you wish to make the most of it?

Wilstone and Long Marston Living Advent Calendars!
We need your help.
As with so much this year, Christmas is going to be different. But it is still a celebration of light and love. For those of us with a faith, it is about the birth of Jesus our Saviour, and all that means to us.
To remind us that even in difficult times, whatever we believe, we have much for which we rejoice, we would like to organize Living Advent Calendars in Wilstone and Long Marston. Some of you may have seen this on local pages.
Advent begins on Sunday November 29th this year, and Christmas Eve is the last day. So for each of those 26 days, one household would put a display in a window or a front garden that others can see, and that is left up for the whole of Advent.
It would be up to you how you decorate, and you need a space that others can see, that will not cause a traffic or pedestrian jam. You also need to be comfortable with your address being on the list/map that will be issued (within the villages only).
Emma Smith is organising Wilstone, and Rev Jane Banister is organising Long Marston, and our contact details are below. Do get in touch with us to volunteer or for more information.
If we get lots of volunteers, we could have two on each day and include the 12 days of Christmas as well!

Mothering Sunday has always been both a day of celebration for many and a sensitive and emotional day for some. Wherever you are this Sunday please do join in this day of prayer and action and remember especially those who are sick or anxious, and all involved in our Health Service. As one action, we are calling on everyone to place a lighted candle in their window at 7.00 p.m. as a sign of solidarity and hope in the light of Christ that can never be extinguished.
