Yesterday at St Bartholomew's Greens Norton bells were ringing as part of the village show.

Thanks to ringers from across the benefice who helped out. You may even have noticed Revd Greg ringing :-)

If you had a go & want to find out more, this video from St Paul's Cathedral gives you a behind the scenes insight. You might even spot one or two of our ringers in this band.

If you want to join in then pop along on a Thursday evening during practice & they will be delighted to teach you more.

🔔 From Towcester to the Bullring… 🔔

Well worth a listen to Illuminated on BBC Radio 4, which follows the Birmingham bellringers as they prepare for the National 12-Bell Striking Contest — the world’s leading competition for 12-bell ringing.

And there’s a great St Lawrence, Towcester connection too!

Mike Wilby, captain of the Birmingham 12-bell team, learnt to ring here at St Lawrence, and some of the team are good friends of the St Lawrence Society and ring here with us from time to time.

It was particularly good to hear reference in the programme to the team ringing here at Towcester as part of their preparation for the competition.

A fascinating glimpse into the skill, teamwork, friendship and tradition behind the sound of church bells — and a reminder that our twelve bells here at St Lawrence are part of a much wider ringing story.

🎉 St Lawrence Day Quiz – Results! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who took part in our St Lawrence Day quiz and had a go at spotting all the knitted people hidden amongst the wonderful displays in church!

It was incredibly close.

🧶 There were 19 knitted people altogether. Two entries were very close, spotting 18, but each had just one quiz question wrong.

✏️ Two other entries got every single quiz question right, but counted 12 and 13 knitted people.

With it being so close, we’ve decided there really ought to be four winners! 🏆🏆🏆🏆

We’ll be in touch with our winners shortly with a little prize.

A huge thank you again to Judith, Kim and Mel and all those who contributed for all the time, creativity and care that went into the St Lawrence displays. They were a lovely way to celebrate our church’s namesake — and we hope everyone enjoyed discovering a little more about St Lawrence along the way!
