FILLED is our Friday group for children in Reception to Year 4, where we have fun, explore the Bible and grow in faith together, every Friday from 5:30–6:45pm!

This week, we learned about Mordecai and his decision to say “no” to bowing down to Haman. We thought about the things we might need to say “no” to, and the things we can say “yes” to as followers of Jesus, and how God strengthens us to stand firm in our faith. 💪

The children remembered the story and their memory verse so well! 🙌

We also sang a brilliant song that reinforced our message. Here it is if you’d like to sing along at home with your family! 🎶

When Haman walked into the room and expected everyone to bow… 👀🐉

We had fun getting creative and acting out the passage this week, with perhaps a generous amount of artistic licence! 😂

But Esther 2:19–3:15 reminds us that pressure to bow to the wrong thing can come in all sorts of forms. Haman wanted honour, power and recognition, but Mordecai refused to give him what belonged to God.

The question for us is simple: What are we bowing to?

Approval? Pride? Power? Fear? The need to be noticed?

Because not everything that demands our attention deserves our allegiance.

Thankfully, our King is worth bowing to. 👑

❓❔What's going on this Month at Together Church? ❓❔

✨😄12th July sees our Youth takeover all 3 services (and Pastor Pete's return). Who knows what fun we'll be getting up to!

🫓⚽The following Sunday - 19th July - is our 'Together as One' joint service, followed by games, a BBQ and more.
We'll meet at Torquay Boys' Grammar School at 10:30am until 3:30pm.
