ST PETER’S CHURCH
TORKSEY

We are part of the Stow Group of churches, with a friendly congregation which welcomes you to all our services. During the month, the majority of us travel to other churches for a group service.

The Church stands in the middle of the village on the A156 between Gainsborough and Lincoln. It is a grade 2 listed building dating from the 12th Century. We have a closed Church Yard, together with a separate Cemetery in the village. The Church contains a Post office operating once a week on a Tuesday. There is also a doctor’s surgery. Torksey is best described as a dormitory village with mainly private housing although it does have a large Park Home development next to the Fossdyke Canal on the southern edge of the village. We do not have a school or a Village Hall, although it is hoped that with the installation of a toilet and enhanced refreshment facilities the Church could be used as a community building.
