On Sunday in Hope Kids in Trebanog, we talked about how Jesus says that His followers are the salt of the earth. 🧂🌎

What on earth does that mean? 🤔

Salt ADDS. It more than adds, it adds FLAVOUR.

If you add salt to chips, it makes the chips better, right?!

In other words, Jesus' followers are called to make the world we live in BETTER. 🙌

We talked about how we try to make the world better by being kind, helpful, respectful, generous, thankful, peaceful, considerate, loving.

And we decorated these salt shakers (with glitter 😳🫠🙈🥴) as a REMINDER for our homes of Matthew 5:13,

'You are the salt of the earth.'

We love our Hope Kids across our 3 church gatherings, and we're so grateful for the opportunity to share with them the Good News of Jesus 🙌

He makes everything better! 🩷

Are you certain about anything in your life?

Listen to the words of Paul. Paul was a guy who met Jesus in a powerful way (ask us about his story) and wrote a lot of books in the New Testament in the Bible. He is absolutely certain here. CONVINCED. But what is he so convinced about?

He is certain that nothing - check out the list in these verses (he’s tried to think of everything here) - absolutely no single thing, NOTHING can separate us from God’s love for us that is experienced through the death and resurrection of Jesus.

We keep banging on about it, but the Bible tell us that God loves us so much that he has made a way for us to know him and be known by him in a loving relationship through the death and resurrection of Jesus.

What are you convinced about today?

Did you know we have an allotment in Treherbert? Our Upper Rhondda crew have been working hard clearing the ground, planting seeds and learning some new skills 🌱 Our goal with the site is to create a space for people to connect with one another and God’s creation (and maybe grow some food too! 😅)

A big diolch to Building Society who awarded us £100 as part of their Community Grant scheme to purchase some supplies and a shiny new wheelbarrow 💪 They are celebrating the opening of their new branch with a Family Fun Day on 6th June, 10am-2pm at the new branch on Hannah Street in Porth, and anyone is welcome along!

And get in touch with us if you’d like to get involved with our Allotment Project at all 🌱 No specific skills required - we are mostly beginner gardeners learning as we go! 🫶

It's Pentecost Sunday! 🔥

It's the day where we remember and celebrate the promised Holy Spirit coming upon God's people for the first time.

After Jesus rose from the dead, He promised His disciples that He would be with them ALWAYS, and that He was sending them the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is not some ghostly entity. 👻 🚫

The Holy Spirit is God's gift of His Holy presence, living in His people. 🙌

The Holy Spirit is the fulfilment of Jesus' promise, to be with His people ALWAYS. 🙌

What. A. Gift. 🙌🎁

Confused? 🤔
Have questions? ❓️
Intrigued? 🙌

Why not join us at one of our gatherings today to hear more?! We'd love to see you 🩷

On Thursdays Jon and I meet in Trebanog to pray 🙏 We pray for all sorts of things.

We pray for Trebanog.
We pray for our church.
We pray for those who are sick.
We pray for those who are struggling.
We pray for the youth.
We pray for our kids.

And when we pray, we pray with faith. Faith to believe that God hears us. And faith to believe that He is able to do something about it. 🙌

We don't use special words. We don't use a formula. We don't do anything other than speak to God simply, like we speak to each other.

If you are in need of prayer today. Message us, we would love to pray for you. 🙏

Or, can we encourage you to pray yourself. No magic words. No fancy vocab. Just 'God help me.' 'God please guide me.' 'God please comfort me.' 'God.....'

We believe He hears.
And we believe He answers. 🩷

Sometimes I find it hard to sleep. The worries of life creep in. My brain tries to process my overly busy existence. Rest evades me. I can even forget that I am loved and cared for.

Did you know that, firstly, you are loved by God? And secondly, the God who loves you and made you is infinite. He never sleeps. He doesn’t need to.

We, on the other hand, do!

Sleep is part of God’s daily gift of grace to us. It is a moment, or 6 - 8 hours, of accepting our limits. It helps us to trust God with our worries. Rest is part of God’s original design for our lives - let’s enjoy it. 🛌

Next time I can’t sleep, I’m going to remember that God loves me and he can take all of my worries for the night and give me sleep in return.
