Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday reminds us of the day Jesus arrived in Jerusalem on the back of a donkey to the cheers of crowds of people. Its name originates from the palm branches waved by the crowd to greet and honor Jesus as he entered the city.

Palm Sunday is celebrated by blessing and distributing palm branches, usually shaped like a cross. Many churches will mark the day with a procession.

In Welsh it is called 'Sul y Blodau', as it is a tradition to place flowers on the graves of loved ones on this day.
The vestments for the day are red, the color of blood, indicating the sacrifice that Christ was going into the city to make.

Merciful God, as we journey through Holy Week, help us to walk closely with Jesus.

From the joyful procession of Palm Sunday to the sadness of Good Friday and the ultimate triumph of Easter,
remind us of the deep love you have for us, a love that endures every trial and triumphs over every adversity.

Strengthen our faith and keep us loyal to You.

Our busy weekend of St David’s Day celebrations continue today in Cardiff following on from an amazing concert last night at St Thomas' Church, Clydach Vale with Cwmclydach Primary School and Mid-Rhondda Band a packed church enjoyed a wide variety of music and of course the joys of listening to a school choir performing classics from Sound of Music. Brilliant. More photos to follow later.
