Sunday saw one of the more unusual ceremonies in the Old St Peter’s Kirk calendar…
After proving herself more than capable of tackling whatever the kirkyard can throw at her, Julia was formally presented with her very own Weapon of Mass (Weeding!) Destruction.
The presentation was carried out with all the dignity and solemnity you would expect from her fellow volunteers at the Old St Peter’s Kirk Preservation Association.
It’s become something of a tradition among the team, and Julia can now officially join the ranks of those trusted to go forth and do battle with the kirkyard’s more determined vegetation.
Congratulations, Julia! We hope you wield it wisely… although the nettles may wish to start making alternative arrangements.
