What a wonderful afternoon our ladies had today at our High Tea event at church! ☕🍰🌸

Nearly 30 ladies gathered together for an afternoon filled with amazing food, lots of fun, games, fellowship, and some incredibly powerful testimonies of God’s goodness and faithfulness.

A huge thank you to Erica for organising such a beautiful event and creating a space where friendships could grow, stories could be shared, and hearts could be encouraged.

It was a joy to see so many ladies together, laughing, connecting, and celebrating all that God is doing. Truly, God is good! 🙌

Completely blown away by this weekend and all that God is doing through our small church. Little is much when God is in it!

For a church that began as a handful of believers sent to establish a new work on the Fylde Coast, we are now a fellowship of disciples that is growing and impacting much further afield.

Pastor Stephen was ordained by our bishop on Friday. He was anointed through the laying on of hands. This is the culmination of a three-year journey of leading, learning, and serving. We are so blessed to have had him at the forefront of our ministry. He also led worship for the whole national conference and did so humbly and skilfully, ushering in a real sense of God’s presence.

Rev. Geoff was ordained too. The bishop charged him with taking hold of the Scriptures with authority and preaching the Good News. It was a beautiful scene of God bringing into fruition a promise He had placed on Geoff’s heart many years before. Before the ordination, he shared a testimony of God’s grace breaking into the prison where he serves as chaplain — wow!

This morning, Beverley was welcomed into the journey towards ordination. The national conference voted unanimously for her to become formally part of the denomination as a Licensed Pastor, with the hope that she will be fully ordained next year. Bev’s witness to the power of the Holy Spirit is truly special.

Paul represented the church as our Lay Delegate, voting on important matters of business, budgets, personnel changes, and the future vision of the denomination — a role he takes seriously and one in which he leads LL so brilliantly.

Cath was back from the Czech Republic, where she serves as a missionary, preaching the Good News to the youth of one of the most unchurched societies in Europe. It was a real blessing to spend time with her face-to-face and for her to network with other Free Methodist missionaries.

We also had representatives from the church there for the whole conference, willing to learn and grow: Kathryn, Gregory, and Kevin. Wade, Colin, and Craig served on the worship team. Loads from LL came on Friday night to support Rev. Baines and Rev. Whitaker, and they definitely had the loudest cheers when their names were read out by the bishop!

My heart is full as I reflect on such a precious weekend. God is faithful. He always equips those whom He calls. He always draws near to those who draw near to Him. He is no man’s debtor, and if you step up to lead in His Kingdom, He promises the adventure of a lifetime.

We are part of an incredible movement called the Free Methodist Church UK and Ireland where our doctrine is strong and the standards are high. Where we long to see heaven full and Jesus’ power released here on Earth.

I have a sneaky feeling that this is just the start for LL, that God is calling more of our leaders to step up and step out so God can show up and show off in their lives. If God is nudging you towards leadership please let me know, there is nothing I love more that praying with people to find their God-given purpose.

We wanted to share something a little special with you today.

This video has been created by Esmae, the daughter of one of our church members, Abigail.

As part of her college course in video and media production, Esmae had to come up with a few projects that she would then make. She has put in a tonne of effort. Esmae filmed everything using professional camera and audio equipment she borrowed from college, and has spent a significant amount of time editing and producing it.

We were more than happy to support her and we’re really proud of the effort she’s put in.

It would mean a lot if you could take a moment to watch the video and encourage her.

As a church, we love to see people growing, stepping out, and using their gifts. Let’s continue to support and champion the next generation as they learn and develop their skills.

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Well done, Esmae—we’re cheering you on!

The lovely Pam from church has written an Easter poem as part of her worship and wanted to share. It is a parody or Iruin Berlin’s “Easter Parade” from 1948.

There’ll be no pretty bonnets in this Easter parade,
No frills upon it, in this Easter parade, Only a crown of thorns stabbing into his head and red,
Rivers running into my heart they bled.

No, they’ll be no pretty bonnets in this Easter parade.

No one will be in clover in this Easter parade,
Yet its crowds will look you over in this Easter parade.
They’ll see the wheals upon your back raised and shining proud,
They’re the lifelines of your tormentors, forgiven already I’m bound.

No one will be in clover in this Easter parade.

There’ll be no proudest fellow in this Easter parade,
Just a meek Messiah in this Easter parade,
Carrying his cross with dignity as he staggers to the hill,
Stopping only to smile at the hecklers and bless them with God’s will

There’ll be no proudest fellow in this Easter parade.

No one will write a sonnet on this Easter parade,
No magazine will show it, this Easter parade,
A lowly, Nazarene hung and suffered there,
Some wept, some laughed, some gambled as they stared,
Even the sun had its face in shame, the world was a dark place without him.

No one will write a sonnet on this Easter parade.

But wait, three days past quickly.

🚨 Exciting News for Light and Life Church! 🚨

With our recent upgrades to our new church building we have finally got round to replacing the chairs. After much thought, feedback, and a desire to help everyone feel fully rested in the presence of the Lord…

We are delighted to announce that we have officially upgraded all of our seating to premium reclining massage chairs 🙌

✔️ Heated seats
✔️ Full recline during Pastor Jonny’s longer sermons
✔️ Optional “gentle vibration” during prayer ministry

We believe this will help everyone enter into a deeper level of comfort.

Please arrive early this Sunday to choose your preferred reclining position.

(P.S. Blankets are encouraged but not provided.)
