Glencairn Parish Church Victorian Gothic Church of Scotland Category A Listed Kirkland Thornhill Scotland Built in 1836 [now in private hands]. re.

The Scotland home of Godstone Ranch School of the Arts. The Glencairn Parish Church became a Category A listed building on 3 August 1971. The Gothic-style church was built in 1836 to a design by architect William MacCandlish of Dalry. The transept has unusual arrangement of a large arched opening with the north window and 3 doors recessed on the north wall. Annie Laurie, subject of the famed song

"Bonnie Annie Laurie," and a faithful worshipper of Glencairn Kirk where she was baptized, is buried in the old churchyard against the gabled wall of the now ruined Glencairn Kirk next to her husband, Alexander Fergusson of Craigdarroch. "Annals of an Inland Parish" by John Corrie 1910
