We are delighted to share that there will be a wedding in the village tomorrow at 1:00pm.💏

As tradition dictates, the church gates will be tied, and when the wedding party departs, the children might be lucky enough to collect a few coins from the groom! 😉

Spectators who would like to see the bride and groom are very welcome to wander up Church Hill and join us in wishing the newly married couple every happiness for their future together. ❤️

🔍 A duckling hunt around the church grounds

☕ Coffee and cake
🎭 Alice in Wonderland-themed artwork created by the talented students of Pickhill Church of England Primary School.
🚌 The Heck Mini Bus will be available to transport people to Swainby Beck at around 2:45pm
🏁 The duck race starts at 3pm!

🦆🌊 The ducks are almost ready… are you?!

This Monday, we’ll be setting sail with 2000 ducks down Swainby Beck, but did you know what happens after the race?

Once all our speedy ducks cross the finish line, we need to carefully sort them into boxes of 250 so they can be safely stored in the church cellar, ready for next year’s event. That’s where we need YOU! 💛

We’d love our amazing young volunteers to lend a hand at the end of the race. So stick around after the race, roll up your sleeves, and help us get our ducks (literally!) in a row 🦆📦

We’re excited to share some lovely news with our Pickhill School families!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of All Saints' Church, 150 special blue ducks have been purchased, meaning that every child from Pre-School through to Year 6 will have their own chance to take part in our annual Duck Race! 🦆

Each child will be coming home with their own unique number, representing their very own numbered duck, which will be released at 3pm from Low Swainby Beck this Bank Holiday Monday.
We’d love for you to join us for a fun-filled afternoon. Come along to the church grounds from 1pm where there will be:
🎨 Free face painting
🦆 A duck hunt
☕ Coffee and cake
🌿 A chance to relax and enjoy time together in our beautiful surroundings
🖼️ A special display of children’s artwork inside the church
Rev James will also be driving the Heck Mini Bus to help any little (or tired!) legs travel between the church and the beck and back again.
