We had a great evening for the Village Bonfire Party kindly and generously hosted by Anabel and Alan Mackinnon. Welcomed with warming drinks and Sausage rolls, the bonfire was soon lit and it made a magnificent spectacle. Peter, Nigel and John did an excellent job with the fireworks!

After our annual Harvest Festival in Church, many of the congregation went on to Forthampton Village Hall, where we enjoyed a delicious Ploughman's Supper. The tables were beautifully decorated with local plants and fruits. Between the courses we had a quiz and the evening was rounded off with a raffle. The committee very generously donated their profits to the Church Restoration Fund.

At the very end of September, we received a surprise - and very generous - donation from the Barflys Bikers Motorcycle Group. They are a group of keen motorcyclists who regularly pass through the village on their way to and from the Lower Lode Inn, their regular meeting place. To show appreciation to the villagers for not complaining about the roaring of their bikes, they presented a cheque for £300.An extremely magnanimous gesture!

Another of our annual visits from members of the Victorian Society. Tim Bridges brings groups from all over the Midlands and shares with them the Victorian architectural and decorative delights contained in St. Mary's. We provided a generous tea as usual and members purchased postcards of the window and the new Forthampton bags.

The Heritage Evening was a great success and lots of folk took a great deal of interest in all the Architectural Treasures we have. The local Historical Society was represented along with our Tewkesbury Councillor, and we all enjoyed Peter's fascinating talk, carefully organised so that everyone could walk around and observe the items he had just mentioned.

Forthampton Church Restoration, here are some photos of the very successful Antiques afternoon we held in aid of the Tower Fund a few weeks ago. The final figure raised was over £3.5k which was wonderful! Fulsome thanks to Mr and Mrs Yorke for their hospitality and generosity and sincere thanks also go to Simon Chorley for his hard work and brilliant auctioneering skills!! Many thanks too go to the cake makers and the excellent Jazz Band.

An excellent, well attended evening of entertainment featuring the Cantores Chamber Choir took place on Saturday. Many thanks are extended to all those involved in ensuring a pleasurable Summers evening was had by all.
