Could God be calling you to grow faith, community and flourishing right where you live? Bring your questions and your half-formed hunches and meet people who have planted their lives in some of Britain's most underserved neighbourhoods, and who know your kind of street, at the Newbigin Pioneering Hub's free taster session on Zoom on 29th July at 6.30pm.

You'll be exploring the fifth Newbigin Pioneering Cohort, starting this September, and over 90 minutes we will walk you through the 11-month pathway, introduce some of the practitioners who will guide you, and answer the question underneath all of it.

You'll also hear how the six modules carry you from seeing your place differently to pitching a real venture from within it. Discover what it means to be formed alongside a cohort small enough to know you and large enough to carry you. You will leave clearer about your next step, whatever you decide.

Volunteers required for Lower Deck cafe.

We are a community cafe serving a range of meals including full English breakfast, baked potatoes, sandwiches, toasted tea cakes and a weekly special.

We are looking for volunteers to join us who can assist with serving customers, washing up or cooking. Catering experience would be great but is not essential as training will be provided, a willingness to get involved and work as a part of our wonderful team is a must!

All of our volunteers are on a rota, some attend most weeks and others just once a month. Each session is on a Friday, from 10am until 2pm

Lower Deck cafe serves around 80 people each Friday from 10am until 2pm. The cafe is run entirely by volunteers and is supported by the United Reformed Church and Tavistock Foodbank. We provide good value meals and refreshments. We are open to everyone, local residents and visitors alike.

If you are interested in helping out, please contact Jo O’Driscoll our cafe co-ordinator or pop in and see us on a Friday. The appointment process involves us requesting two references and an informal interview.

Our next Organ Recital is on Saturday 25th July with Chris Beechey from Bideford. This will be the final one of this season, with our new season starting in September! During the year we have raised nearly £1000 for Christian Aid - huge thanks to all our organists and our audiences.
