There are many different Christian churches and denominations, but all have the same basic calling - to worship God, to share the good news about Jesu

It means commitment by each church and denomination to deepen its fellowship with the others and, without losing what makes each interestingly different, to work with them towards a greater visible unity. In 974AD a Benedictine abbey was established here, and although dissolved in 1539, the Christian impact of those days remains like a sealed well beneath the surface of our community. Tavistock exudes a sense of God's presence and community life and care, which are a lasting legacy of the abbey. Today, whichever church you visit, from Catholic to charismatic, you will discover a sense of the love of God and unity. TACT is the association which proclaims "One Church" sharing together the ministry of God to the community in Foodbank, Healing Rooms, Street and School Pastors, school mentors, celebrations and much more. The sealed well is being opened again by the spirit of God, so we warmly welcome you to come and visit us at any of our congregations.
