This morning we built a prayer cairn for a very special member of our church family who sadly passed away this week. Later on, Chris and I rebuilt the cairn on Seaton beach amidst the beauty and drama of the wind and the rain.

May all who are grieving today feel held in love and get their 'stained glass' moment (however fleeting) where the sun shines through. 🙏🩵

Tomorrow is our last midweek communion until September, so why not pop in and see what it's all about! Our w**e is non alcoholic, our bread gluten free, and our table is wide open to anyone who wants to share this simple ritual with us 😊💚

The URC is delighted to announce that the first Church Life Fund shared services, the URC Resources Hub and Helpdesk, are both now available. The Resources Hub is an exciting new venture for the URC which aims to provide local churches with all the practical guidance and support they need to thrive and grow.

We are very excited that we currently have a number of resources available for you, including GDPR policies, HR templates, selected Ministries documents, and Health and Safety guides. We will continue to develop and upload additional content as it becomes available over the coming months.

The Helpdesk is also here to offer personal support whilst you use the Resources Hub. If you have any specific questions about the content on the Hub, the Helpdesk is here to support you in finding what you need to complete the tasks associated with running your local Church.

A big thank you to everyone who came to our fabulous strawberry tea! It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, and even the scaffolding got a bit of a makeover with bunting made at our hobbies club. The pictures show I was too busy eating my vegan scones to remember to take many photos, always a sign of fun times 😂

It's that time of year again- and it looks like we might have sunshine for our strawberry tea this year- hooray! Please do share, and come along if you can, it's such fun! At Hobbies club this Tuesday from 10 am we'll be making simple fans to help keep us all cool! As I've made this prototype I've been reflecting on the climate emergency, and have written words on the four joining folds, such as reduce, buy less, switch off, grow...let's pray and ACT together! 💚🙏

Tomorrow (Thursday) we shall be sharing our midweek communion at 10.30am. Our theme will be PEACE, inspired by the deeply moving 'Icons on ammo boxes' project/ exhibition. Below is a picture of my keenly awaited first grandchild- welcome baby Francis!- may we strive to be peacemakers and bridgebuilders wherever life leads and for all generations to come💚
