St James Church Taunton

St James Church Taunton Welcome to the page for St James church, a friendly and welcoming Anglican church in Taunton

St James Church is a lively Anglican church in Taunton town centre. We meet together to worship God in our Sunday services, held every Sunday at 10.30am. We're not just about Sundays though, there is much else happening through the week and we will post special events coming up on this page. At the heart of what we do is the belief that life is better when we come to know Jesus and choose to follo

w him. God wants us to know him, know that we are loved by him, and for us to live life in all its fullness. As a church community we aim to support each other, practically and spiritually, and show God's love to the wider community. You can contact us through this page, or come along and meet us this Sunday. Our children and young people had a wonderful morning hearing from local paralympian Hannah Taunton as a fitting finale to last term's Sport and Faith topic.

Thank you Hannah! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ… ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Time to change the banners!
The new Fruits of the Spirit Banners have been taken down and packed away. As you can see it's a bit of an exacting task to carefully remove them!
And now... to put up the amazing work of local artist, Jane Mowat, who created these angel banners for St James. Jane carved into the seats of pews removed from the church on 2001. The banners were printed onto hand-made Nepalese paper.
Take a closer look at these striking and beautiful images of angelic events in the Bible.
Come and see them on the Heritage Open Days on 12th and 19th of September 10-4pm (Lots of other things to experience - including climbing the tower! See our post.)
