This is a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who gave their help at the Service in the Pits and the Walk/Run/Cycle around the racing circuit at Oulton Park on Sunday.
Without the community to help in so many and various ways, it would be impossible to run this day. We really appreciate all your help 😁

Grateful thanks go to MSV for letting us use the circuit for the day, and thanks go to their great staff too.

Somewhere in the region of £1,300 was raised for St Peter’s Church and we are so grateful.

The Mothers’ Union cake stall also exceeded their target of raising £150 to celebrate 150 years since the MU started. They fund projects like literacy for women and opposition to gender based violence.

I’m sorry that there are no other photos of participants except this one, the slowest person round the circuit!

Some more pics of the farewell to our Vicar last Sunday. Paul had written a special service for Lammas, an traditional agricultural service for this time of year (an explanation is in one of the photos)

The Lammas loaf (and the celebration cake) was made by Allan, a member of the congregation and John, a local farmer, brought milk, as they are an integral part of the service. Paul and Fiona’s grandchildren showed us a picture they had drawn showing God’s gift of creativity and play.

We said farewell to our Vicar Paul and his wife Fiona yesterday at a joint service and lunch with St Mary’s, Whitegate, held in St Peter’s church. It was a joyous, though sad (for us) celebration of his seven years here as Vicar. They were presented with ‘the means’ to buy a summerhouse for their new garden

He and Fiona have retired after 41 years in various dioceses and parishes and are moving to Chester. We wish them every blessing in the next chapter of their life.

There will be more photos to follow.
