It is with sadness that we announce that Brother Alex Brown passed away yesterday 3rd may 2026.

He had been dealing with cancer for many months, but had continued to attend church as well as he could and recently bore his testimony to us all during our regular Sunday meetings.

Alex was a prominent figure in the History of our stake. He became President of the Manchester Stake when the Ashton Stake was split off from the Manchester Stake. And he passed away on the day the two stakes re-joined.

I would encourage us all to keep his wife Maureen, his son Nathan and his daughter Rohaise in our prayers at this time, as well as Alex's grandchildren.

We will provide details for Alex's funeral once they are available.
