God does not want us to read about revival, He wants us to see revival in our days. Many revivalists like Evan Roberts, Charles Finney, Jonathan Edwards and co were shaped by accounts of what God had done before. The reading wasn’t the end; it was meant to be kindling.

The idea being that revival isn’t primarily an intellectual or historical exercise; it’s meant to be a lived and embodied reality. Reading about revival can become a substitute for the thing itself, you get the language, the theology, the stories of Azusa Street or the Welsh Revival, and it can create a kind of vicarious satisfaction that actually dulls the hunger for the real thing.

God’s desire is not withholding revival. His wish is we all get revived. The problem is that His people are often more comfortable studying it than pursuing the conditions that produce it: sustained prayer, repentance, desperation, and unity. If there’s anytime for revival, now is.

Let us rise up as church and cry like the sons of Korah and ask, Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?

Revival is both gift and pursuit, something God does and something we seek. He promises that those who draw near to Him will find Him drawing near to them. The question isn’t whether God is willing to revive us, but whether we’re willing to be revived.

Dear cherished member,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and happy New Year in advance!

As we approach December 31st, I’m personally inviting you, on behalf of our entire church family, to join us for our end-of-year service.

The psalmist reminds us to count our blessings one by one—to truly see all that the Lord has done. I invite you to come dressed in white, with your dancing shoes on and your handkerchief ready, as we thank God for His faithfulness throughout this year and seek His guidance and direction for 2026.

The atmosphere is charged with expectation; revival is near. I encourage you to share this invitation with someone to invite someone God places on your heart, and your life will never be the same.

We can’t wait to see you there.

Life is not a competition with others. True fulfillment comes not from comparing yourself to those around you, but from pursuing excellence with divine guidance at the center of your efforts.

Remember that excellence without God can lead you astray. When we strive for greatness while keeping God at the heart of our pursuits, we find both purpose and peace. Your journey is uniquely yours—not a race against others, but a path toward becoming the best version of yourself.

Focus on growth, not competition. Let your relationship with God be the compass that guides your pursuit of excellence.
