What Is Most Important

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3).

Someone once asked the great British preacher C. H. Spurgeon if he could express his Christian faith in a few words. He said, “Yes, I can say it in just four words: Jesus died for me.”

That’s what it all boils down to. You may not be a theologian or the greatest intellect of all time. But you can tell the story of what Jesus did on the cross, how He died on the cross and shed His blood for us. There is power in that message. I have seen it transform people time and time again, because God anoints that message. He blesses it. And He uses it to pe*****te the defenses that people put up.

The apostle Paul tells us in a nutshell: “Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

The gospel, plain and simple, is that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day.

Paul was known for his great oratorical skills and his command of culture and languages. If anyone could have intellectually convinced a person of the validity of something, it was the apostle Paul.

Yet here is what he said when he began to preach the gospel: "When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or with much wisdom as I proclaimed to you the mystery of God. For I determined not to know anything while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:1,2).

When we want to explain too much, we can actually hinder the message of the gospel, complicating it. And only this powerful, simple, yet profound message can change lives.

It changed your life and it changed mine.

True Love

Glorious God and Father, thank you Lord for your sacrifice on the cross for us sinners. We thank you for shedding your blood to purify us from sin. May this message, the true message of love, reach many thirsty hearts in today's times. This is our prayer in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen!

Our Accountability

Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? Luke 19:23. UL 291.1

Our lifetime is precious, and every action should be considered. It has been granted us that we might accomplish a work that will be acknowledged by the Lord as good, enduring as eternity, if we will lay hold of it in the right spirit. It is an intensely solemn thing to live in view of the account we must render to God of our time, our talents, and our influence.... UL 291.2

In the use of the talents entrusted to him, no man is called by God to lay off his individual responsibility [so] that another man may do his trading for him. *To every man God has given his work, and man is accountable to God for how that work is done....* UL 291.3

We are not called upon to give account of our talents to man, but to God. Our mind, our judgment, our tact, our wisdom—all are given to us of God, to be improved for Him; and it is God who will call us to account for the way in which we have used His gifts.... UL 291.4

The period of life in every case is beset with temptations, and it is through faith in Jesus Christ alone that we shall find grace to help in every time of need. But each worker has a life to live, a character to form. Each period of life brings with the passing years some special opportunities for work; and each advancing year must be made use of, improved to the very best of human capability. This, with the aid of divine agencies, will show improvement, advancement onward and upward, walking step by step in a safe path heavenward. UL 291.5

Each day, each hour of life, from childhood to youth, from youth to middle age, and onward to old age, our life history is being as faithfully recorded in the books of heaven as the polished plate of the artist reflects the features of the sitter. Each day, each hour, brings with it advantages which the human agent must improve. We cannot afford to lose a moment by doing careless work for the Lord. We must use our entrusted talents with fidelity, that earnest, honest, pure, clean work may bring glory to God. Nothing less will be accepted by Him. *Our work in this world is to reveal the pure principles that are current in heaven. This is the only kind of work that will be acknowledged in the courts of heaven, and accepted as pure and holy by the Lord.* —Manuscript, October 4, 1896, UL 291.6

Wishing you a blessed sabbath day ✨️

Will You Open the Door?

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20. OHC 352.1

Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.” Will we let Him in? He would not have us stand at this time, amid the perils of the last days, in our own finite strength.... It is our privilege to walk in the sunshine of His presence, and to weave into the characters we are forming the golden threads of cheerfulness, gratitude, forbearance, and love. We may thus show the power of divine grace, and reflect light from Heaven amid all the frets and irritations that come to us day by day.... Then why do we go stumbling along without light? OHC 352.2

Every warning, reproof, and entreaty in the Word of God, or through His delegated messengers, is a knock at the door of the heart; it is the voice of Jesus, asking for entrance. With every knock unheeded, your determination to open becomes weaker and weaker. If the voice of Jesus is not heeded at once, it becomes confused in the mind with a multitude of other voices, the world’s care and business engross the attention, and conviction dies away. The heart becomes less impressible, and lapses into a perilous unconsciousness of the shortness of time, and of the great eternity beyond. OHC 352.3

Many have so much rubbish piled up at the door of the heart that they cannot admit Jesus. Some have difficulties between themselves and their brethren to remove; others have evil tempers, pride, covetousness; with others, love of the world bars the entrance. All this must be taken away, before they can open the door and welcome the Saviour in. OHC 352.4

How precious is the promise, “I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Oh, the love, the wondrous love of God! After all our lukewarmness and sins He says, Return unto Me, and I will return unto thee, and will heal all thy backslidings. OHC 352.5

Our work is to open the door of the heart and let Jesus come in. He is knocking for entrance.... Will you open the door? Jesus is standing at the door of your heart. Let Him in, the heavenly Guest. OHC 352.6

Dear Lord, help me remove the rubbish that is blocking your entrance to my heart so that You can come in.

Would you also want to open your heart for Christ today?

Have a blessed fellowship with Jesus on this sabbath day.

I also wish for a New Year, really new, and for that to happen we must empty ourselves of the old and unpleasant things or sad that marked this year that is approaching the end.,that we may remember that it will only be a new year if we make it to be, otherwise it will be just another date in our calendar.
I invite you to really make this year 2024 different, special.

We can only make this happen. Love intensely, forgive, abandon pride, let us seek inwardly the good things that God left within each one, for this is his mark on us, Love. Let's be more grateful, that way we will make our lives easier and also of those around us. Let's say more often, thank you, Jesus, for one day giving your life for me.

The Rule of the Kingdom

"Give us this day our daily bread." (Matthew 6:11)

I don't know about you, but I have a thing for bread. I can resist a good dessert. But a fresh bun with melted butter on top, which I can't resist. Biscuits then, are my undoing.

For first-century Jews, bread was essential and part of their daily diet. Practically every meal involved bread. However, when the Bible speaks of “our daily bread,” it is not just referring to that particular item; I'm talking about food in general.

When Jesus taught the disciples to pray, "Give us this day our daily bread." (Matthew 6:11), He was teaching them to pray, "Lord, give us the things we need to live." We need to ask God to supply our needs.

“Like it or not, asking is the rule of the Kingdom” (Charles H. Spurgeon).

God wants us to approach Him in prayer and ask for things. This is clearly taught in Scripture. James 4:2 tells us, "You covet things and do not have them; you kill and envy, but do not get what you want. You fight and make wars. You do not have because you do not ask." We may not have certain things in our lives because we fail to ask God to provide them.

Having established the fact that God provides does not mean that we are to stand still, inactive and not working. When we pray, "Give us this day our daily bread," we are acknowledging that everything we have comes from God and everything we need must come from Him. It means we are willing to say, "Lord, help me with these things."

We need to pray daily for God's provision in our lives.

A Regra do Reino

"Dá-nos hoje o nosso pão de cada dia." (Mateus 6:11)

Não sei você, mas eu tenho uma queda por pão. Posso resistir a uma boa sobremesa. Mas um pão recém-assado com manteiga derretida em cima, isso eu não resisto. Biscoitos então, são a minha ruína.

Para os judeus do primeiro século, o pão era essencial e fazia parte da sua alimentação diária. Praticamente todas as refeições envolviam pão.

Vocês vivem a lutar e a fazer guerras.

*✨Almost Midnight✨*

On Saturday evening we experienced a torrential down pour of rain and thunder and lightning, which caused flash floods in parts of my hometown Sheffield. There would have been major floods if the rain had continued.
The 11th March 1864 was the day of the Great Sheffield flood. Shortly before midnight as families slept, the raging torrent of 690 million gallons (3.4 billion litres) of water smashed into their homes, killing at least 240 people instantly.

In terms of where we are today in earth’s history, The signs of the times is telling us that, it is almost midnight and many people around the world remain sleeping when a greater disaster than the Sheffield flood is coming. The Bible says "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man (Jesus) be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the (2nd) coming of the Son of Man be." (Matthew 24:37-39 NKJV)

Are you fast asleep at midnight unaware or not caring that the end is near? The Bible is clear, “…knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” (Romans 13 : 11 ) And Jesus Himself said we are to "watch and pray...Lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping" (Mark 13:33, 35)

The Promise of a Safe Crossing

"One day Jesus said to his disciples, 'Let's go to the other side of the lake.' They got into a boat and left." (Luke 8:22)

In the New Testament Gospels, we find the story of Jesus saying to his disciples, "Let us go to the other side of the lake" (Luke 8:22). So they got into a little boat and the experienced sailors rowed across the Sea of Galilee. A big storm started and the disciples panicked. Meanwhile Jesus was on deck, sleeping. So they woke him up and shouted, in an accusatory tone, "Master, don't you mind that we die?" (Mark 4:38)

This looks something like: Hello! Sir? Are you paying attention now? Looks like you don't care!

Then Jesus got up and rebuked the storm - and also rebuked the disciples. He asked, "Why are you so afraid? Still don't have faith?" (verse 40). In other words, it would be as if Jesus were saying, “Did you hear what I said? I said, 'Let's go to the other side.' panic."

Jesus did not promise them a smooth crossing. But He promised a safe crossing.

The same is true for us: God doesn't promise us a problem-free life. But He promises us security. We often want to avoid the storm, but sometimes there are lessons we only learn in the storms of life that we wouldn't learn any other way.

I believe it's better to be in a storm with Jesus than anywhere else without Him.

Today is the Day of Salvation

For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2. UL 49.1

*How thankful we all should be that it is not yet too late for wrongs to be righted!* It is our solemn duty to reveal love for God not only in our words, but in deed and in truth. UL 49.2

God calls at this time for skillful workers who will always be found on the side of the Chief Worker. We must have truth in the heart, and love for Christ. “Whosoever will come after me,” He says, “let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Mark 8:34). We have each an individual work to do in denying self and in working out our own salvation with fear and trembling.... UL 49.3

Every soul who places himself on the side of Christ will be tempted with all the power of Satan’s seductive influence. *The grace of God can renew your heart, brace you against temptation, and give you earnest longings for the Spirit of God....* UL 49.4

KJV Romans 8:1
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Today you and I can still make a decision to accept the price that has been paid for our sins and claim the promise that 'He is able to keep us from falling' ( Jude 24).
While Christ is still in the most holy place, let's hasten to confess our sins that they may be blotted out, let's plead that a new heart be created in us and our names be written in the book of life. 🙏

*Habits*

In January each year my church worldwide sets aside time for 10 days of prayers and as a result life transforming testimonies of God’s miracles always occur. This year I was expecting great answers to my prayers from God. But what He wanted me to do was search, pray and surrender defects in my character. You see character is developed by the decisions we make and every sin cherished weakens the character and strengthens the habit. Often times we know the right thing to do but the hard part is doing it. Repeated actions whether good or bad become habits, habits form character and our character determines our destiny.

Today if you are struggling with habits that deform your character bring them to Jesus in prayer. Ephesians 3 : 20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” God’s power in us is beyond our comprehension. Divine power is at work in our lives to do far more than all we can ask or conceive. God gives us ability, strength, skill, resources, and authority that far exceed anything we can dream or imagine.

The Bible gives us instruction, encouragement, and strength to break bad habits. We cannot afford to play with Satan and persist in one wrong habit or to cherish one darling sin. God promises that, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (I Corinthians 10 : 13 ). May God keep us from falling today as we surrender our bad habits to Him.

Labor to Win Even One Soul

What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? Luke 15:4. Mar 29.1

For the conversion of one soul we should tax our resources to the utmost. One soul won to Christ will flash heaven’s light all around him, penetrating the moral darkness and saving other souls. Mar 29.2

*If Christ left the ninety and nine, that He might seek and save the one lost sheep, can we be justified in doing less? Is not a neglect to work even as Christ worked, to sacrifice as He sacrificed, a betrayal of sacred trusts, an insult to God? Mar 29.3*

*Sound an alarm throughout the length and breadth of the earth. Tell the people that the day of the Lord is near and hasteth greatly. Let none be left unwarned.* We might have been in the place of the poor souls that are in error. We might have been placed among barbarians. According to the truth we have received above others, we are debtors to impart the same to them. Mar 29.4

*We have no time to lose. The end is near.* The passage from place to place to spread the truth will soon be hedged with dangers on the right hand and on the left. Everything will be placed to obstruct the way of the Lord’s messengers, so that they will not be able to do that which it is possible for them to do now. We must look our work fairly in the face and advance as fast as possible in aggressive warfare. From the light given me of God I know that the powers of darkness are working with intense energy from beneath, and with stealthy tread Satan is advancing to take those who are now asleep, as a wolf taking his prey. We have warnings now which we may give, a work now which we may do; but soon it will be more difficult than we can imagine. God help us to keep in the channel of light, to work with our eyes fastened on Jesus our Leader, and patiently, perseveringly press on to gain the victory. Mar 29.5

In our life here, earthly, sin-restricted though it is, the greatest joy and the highest education are in service. And in the future state, untrammeled by the limitations of sinful humanity, it is in service that our greatest joy and our highest education will be found. Mar 29.6

May God inspire you and I to cooperate with Him in order to spread the truth to win even one soul.🙏
