This Sunday, 7th June, at St Mary’s, Lydiard Tregoze and Holy Trinity Shaw, the Revd Capt David Booker, the Church Army's Lead Chaplain will be preaching at both Churches.

Service at St Mary’s begins at 9.30am and Holy Trinity Shaw at 11.00am.

St Mary's has been supporting the work of Church Army for many years, so it will be lovely to hear David preach this weekend.

We look forward to welcoming David on Sunday.

On Sunday 21st June, our vicar, Revd Canon Capt. Clive Deverell will lead his final service in the benefice of West Swindon and Lydiard Tregoze before his retirement.

We pray for Clive, Wendy, Rebecca and Callum as they prepare for this new chapter. They will be greatly missed as they move up north to the diocese of Blackburn.

“Christ on the Pillar”

This beautiful wall painting of the risen Christ is on one the nave pillars near the south door of the church. Pilgrims visiting St Mary’s would have seen this on their way into the church. It dates from the first half of the fifteenth century (1400-1450).

Come and visit St Mary’s and see the painting for yourself, along with many other treasures from the past 900 years in glass, wood and stone.

A lovely day for a prayer walk around Lydiard Park, as we continue to offer regular prayer ahead of our forthcoming vacancy. One stop as we look ahead on one of the paths was based on today’s Gospel reading about the Emmaus Road, and that Jesus is with us always. We then moved to the 80 Oaks Labyrinth where the path had been mown, and a lovely time of reflection as we walked around the paths. It was lovely hearing the birds singing, the trees bursting into life and seeing lots of people enjoy the park
