Freshbrook Church

Freshbrook Church We are a community of people who love Jesus. We are a group of Christians who meet together each week to worship God.

We gather for worship that engages with God by his Spirit and through his word the Bible, and we scatter to share his love with the world. We regularly meet together for Prayer, Teaching and Studying the Bible and Fellowship. As a church we are affiliated to the FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches), a network of over 500 churches in the UK. Freshbrook Church is the working name of Freshbrook Evangelical Church, a Registered Charity (No 1128374) in England and Wales

The Characteristics of God – Freshbrook Church Summer sermon series.

Who is God? Surely that question is as important as whether God exists! If he does, then what is he like? Can we trust and rely on him? The Bible answers those questions with a resounding yes. On the one hand, that’s because it presents to us an uncreated and self-existent God – a God who needs nothing from his creation and is completely sovereign over it. As a result, he is completely free to work out his loving purposes in creation without being changed, thwarted or exhausted in the process. On the other hand, as already hinted, this God is supremely good. Love is part of his very nature, because this one God has always existed as three persons in perfect, joyful communion. And he pours out his love and goodness upon his creatures in his gracious, just and faithful dealings with them. So we have a God who is wholly unlike us in some ways, but has made us a little like himself in other ways. He is holy – set apart – yet committed to making his people holy too, through Jesus Christ, who perfectly bridges the gap between creator and creature. The aim of this sermon series is to highlight these key attributes of God, reassuring us that the Almighty is utterly good, trustworthy and dependable – always!

Over the summer we’ll be looking at these characteristics of God. We’ll also be hearing from some of our mission partners as they share about their work. We invite you to join with us when you can. If you miss a week or two for a summer holiday the series will be on our YouTube channel with our other weekly services here: https://www.youtube.com//streams

FUNDRAISER FOR FRESHBROOK CHURCH – CHANGING PLACES TOILET

Meet the Team: Steve Cox; Tim Cox; Jordan Cox. (Support car – Andy & Elaine Gathercole).

About the fundraiser: Steve says, "the three of us will be walking the length of the Ridgeway from Avebury to Aylesbury (87 miles) on the 18 June 2026. We aim to complete this in one non-stop walk (no overnight stay!). We estimate it will take 36 hours allowing for food stops and comfort breaks.”

For more information about the walk please click on this link: https://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/en_GB/trails/the-ridgeway/trail-information

This event is particularly special as we are raising funds to install a Changing Places toilet at Freshbrook Church. These facilities are essential for ensuring that everyone in our community, regardless of their needs, can enjoy our events and services comfortably and with dignity.
