Great Lent in action!

Our parish donated £500 to Prospect Hospice in Wroughton as part of our Great Lent charitable activities. Our Vicar Rev. Varghese Mathew and Trustee Binu Chandapillai visited the hospice to present the donation on behalf of our church.

We are grateful for the chance to support the incredible work Prospect Hospice does for families across our community.

Later this month, we will also be collecting food items for the Salvation Army Food Bank in Swindon. Thank you to all our parish members for your continued generosity during this blessed season.

Advent Journey
Day 12

… we wait for the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.” (Titus 2:13)
Advent reminds us that we live in this holy in-between time — between the Incarnation that has already changed the world, and the glorious appearance of Christ that we still await. This is not an empty waiting. It is a time filled with meaning, where every choice, every act of love, and every step in faith becomes part of our preparation for His coming.
In this present moment, Christ is shaping us to be people of hope.

Lord, make our waiting holy, and shape our lives to reflect Your glory. Amen

Advent Journey
Day 11

“The true Light is already shining” (1 John 2:8).

The Light of Christ is not simply a future hope—it is a present reality.
The Light shines now: in our struggles, in our friendships, in our small acts of faith and kindness.
Often we wait for perfect moments to feel God’s presence, but we see here that the Light is already breaking through our fragile ordinary lives.
Every time we choose kindness when it’s easier to ignore to be so, the Light is shining.
Every time we pray even a single sentence, the Light is shining.

Lord Jesus, open our eyes to see Your Light shining in us, through us, and around us at every moment. Amen

Advent Journey
Day 09

“Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Col. 1:27

The greatest treasure of the Christian life is not something outside us, but Someone within us. Christ dwells in us — in our thoughts, our choices, our relationships, and in the quiet places of our hearts.
Hope is a living presence. It is Christ shaping our character, strengthening us in weakness, and reminding us that our lives are meant to reflect His glory.
Where Christ dwells, despair cannot rule.
Where Christ dwells, our future is never lost.

Lord Jesus, You who dwell within us, fill our hearts with Your hope. Amen
