St. Luke's Church, Sway Come and explore the Christian faith at St Luke’s Church Sway. You are welcome! Welcome! The church is led by Jane Mitchell, our Vicar.

Find us on You Tube - search St Luke’s Church Sway Lymington for our online services at 9.30 and 11am. Small groups meet weekly or fortnightly and are key to the strength of the church. There is an enthusiastic eco church group and a monthly Creative Space group exploring spirituality. We are the only church in Sway and as such you will find villagers of many denominations worshipping and playing

a full role in the life of the church,. We welcome everyone especially if you are exploring faith for the first time. Join us online to visit or come in person! Our church plays an important role in the life of the village. We organise special events within the village, especially at Christmas (outside of our church premises) and are involved in the annual Sway Carnival week. The church building itself was built in 1839 and has had extensions and alterations since then. It can seat about 250 people, but has been known at certain services to squeeze in more! Opposite the church are our Church Rooms and office accommodation. The rooms are used extensively throughout the week by both the church and village groups. They can be hired by the public. Right next to the Church Rooms is the Sway Youth Centre which hosts a number of regular groups including Brownies and a Youth Group run by the Parish Council.

Great advice from Bishop Mary for us all. At St. Luke's Church, Sway I try and have a “no meetings” August and spend the time preparing for the year ahead and resetting heart and soul for the next academic year. Also ‘hold the fort’ with worship through the summer and in the office - being present in August before term starts and staff and volunteers are back! Stuart and I then have our annual holiday in Sept. Next week is festival time New W**e and others go to Keswick, Cumbria when we have fun, delve deeper in bible teaching and network with friends at different churches. It is always encouraging to see the huge numbers of young people serving. I do the prayer ministry training there and love being used by God to pray with others and see him at work! No better work! What is your favourite part of the summer?

Today we said a fond farewell to our Bump Baby and Toddler  group as we break for the summer. ❤️
We enjoyed a very special time together in church with Josh the Puppet, who helped us explore the lovely story Dream Big, Precious One. We sang, danced, and celebrated together with This Little Light of Mine, reminding us all to let God's light shine wherever we go.
We also took time to say goodbye and wish every blessing to the children who are starting school this September. As a special gift, each child starting school received a copy of The Lion Storyteller Bible—the same Bible our Open the Book team uses when sharing Bible stories at St Luke's School. We hope it will become a treasured companion as they continue to discover God's amazing story.
Thank you to all the families who have been part of BBT this year. We hope you all have a wonderful, safe, and restful summer, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next term!
