Another poem by our resident poet, Mair Tovey, but this time on a sadder note as she has written this in memory of her dog, Prince, who passed away a few days ago:
I stand and stare at the world down there
wishing I could do what I did.
But my legs don't work, my paws they hurt,
I'm no longer that frisky kid.
On the grass I lay, and it makes my day
'cos I've found my bark and growl.
she'll bring me a treat of salmon, or meat
or maybe a tasty fowl.
I stand and stare at the road down there
and think of the trips we've had.
I can't do a lot, but a good life I've got
so things are not all that bad.
Rest in peace Prince. 2/.6/ 2012 -28/5/2026
