Great news and a great opportunity for our city 🙌🏼

Many of you will know that one of our leaders here at The Hill, Thom Lynch, was recently appointed Chair of the North Gate Swansea Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board.

The programme brings up to £20 million of long term investment into the communities around the northern gateway to Swansea, with local people at the heart of shaping what happens.

It’s been great to see the first community members joining the Board and the story getting some brilliant local coverage too.

But this is only the beginning. There will be more opportunities to join the Board and lots of other ways to get involved, share ideas and play a part in what happens next.

We’re really proud to see Thom serving our city in this way and excited to see what can happen when people work together for the good of their communities.

☀️ Hill Church family Cwmdonkin Park takeover! ❤️

We had such a great time together on Sunday. A bunch of us simply hanging out, sharing a packed lunch, playing games and enjoying being together.

There were plenty of games for the little kids and the big kids, although you can probably guess who took them most seriously! 😂

Special mention to Kurt for the bowl of the day, taking out the competition with an absolutely perfect bowl! 👏🎯

One of our values at The Hill is doing life together, and we certainly did that on Sunday.

☀️ **SUMMER SUNDAYS AT THE HILL!** ☀️

We’re already two Sundays into our summer together and they’ve been great! ❤️

🍦 We kicked things off with ice creams and a hangout at Greenhill Gardens, followed last Sunday by a brilliant afternoon of picnics, games and plenty of fun at Cwmdonkin Park.

And we’re only getting started! Here’s what’s coming up over the next three Sundays…

🧺 **Sunday 16 August | 12 noon**
Picnic at Blackpill Lido
Bring your picnic, swimming stuff if you fancy it, and come spend the afternoon together.

🙏 **Sunday 23 August | 9am**
Worship & Communion at Matthew’s House
A morning gathering together to worship, pray and share communion.

🌿 **Sunday 30 August | 4pm**
Garden Party at Greenhill Gardens
We’ll finish our Summer Sundays back at Greenhill Gardens for a garden party together!

We’ve loved these Sundays already. Church is so much more than a Sunday service, and summer gives us a great opportunity to simply spend time together, build friendships and enjoy being family.

🏕️ What an incredible week at Newday 2026!

This year, 96 of us travelled together and joined around 12,000 young people and leaders from across the UK for a week of worship, teaching, friendship and encountering Jesus.

We partnered once again with our amazing friends from Gracechurch Bromsgrove, Solihull Christian Fellowship and The Rock Church Guernsey, and as always, it was a joy to serve, laugh, worship and grow together as one Basecamp family.

Across the festival we saw hundreds of people respond to Jesus, hundreds experience healing, countless lives encouraged and challenged, and so many young people take real steps deeper in their faith.

Within our own group, we celebrated four young people giving their lives to Jesus. There is nothing more special than seeing lives transformed.

A huge thank you to every leader who gave up their week to serve, every parent who trusted us, everyone who prayed, everyone who cooked meals before we left, donated food, helped pack vans, drove vehicles and supported us behind the scenes. This week simply wouldn't happen without an incredible team of people serving with generous hearts.

Now... we think everyone has earned a little sleep and recovery! 😴

We're already thankful for the memories made, the friendships strengthened, and everything God has done. Roll on next year! ❤️

We had a great time at The Hill Church last Sunday

Dave spoke about being all about Jesus, and reminded us that originally Paul was dead set against Jesus, but had a miraculous encounter and then spent the rest of his life telling others about Jesus. No one is beyong His reach, let's keep praying for friends and family to come to know Jesus.

As disciples, we follow the way Jesus showed us - WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) - we follow His example.

Even though lots of people were away (including lots of youth going to Newday) we still had a wonderful time of worship together, hearing God's word and encouraging each other in a small group setting 🙏🏻
