This Sunday at Capel y Nant Clydach Abertawe we are excited to welcome a visitor from Tanzania, who will take part in both the morning service (Welsh) and our afternoon service (English), sharing with us about her work combatting FGM (Female Ge***al Mutilation) and protecting girls who may be at risk of this and other abuses. She is one of Alan Cram's many contacts in Tanzania, staying for a few days and addressing several groups in the Swansea area.

Not so many of us in the park this year - half-term and various other things going on. The park itself was strangely quiet too. However, Rev. Tim led in a short bilingual service and there was plenty of refreshments and chat afterwards. One group of people were still there some time after everyone else had gone! Thanks to Friends of Coed Gwilym and Helen from the cafe for supporting this each year.

Looking much more promising now for our Pentecost in the Park service tomorrow - sunshine and warm! Bring a picnic chair if you can - and a cup for the cuppa afterwards. There should also be ice-creams available from the Heritage Centre.

A bit wet in Coedgwilym park just now, but hoping for better weather for our Pentecost in the Park service on May 24th at 3.00 p.m. when we join with our friends from Capel y Nant, St. Mary's and St. Benedict's for singing, readings an prayer together. All welcome to join us - outside if fine, or in the cafe if not. Meanwhile, tomorrow's service to end Christian Aid week will be led by Alan Cram, again at 3.00 p.m. but at our usual venue of Capel y Nant. Over £1000 raised this Christian Aid Week - thanks to all who contributed in any way to that total.

Alice Rutter, one of our preachers, on her 100th birthday. Unable to preach around the Circuit, she still gave a good message in her speech before cutting the amazing Biblical cake. Well done all who arranged this for her.

A wonderful celebration on Sunday, our first monthly bilingual service and the official opening of the garden. A congregation of about 40 gave us a good sing and Fiona led us on the theme of rest and peace. The rain held off until after we had spent a while in the garden. Sadly some of our members missed it due to accident and ill-health and we hope they are soon better. We look forward to future services together and to being able to sit quietly in the garden, and perhaps to hold some events out there too.

First of our monthly bilingual services takes place tomorrow at 4.00 with the official opening of the garden. Notice the difference since our last post - tulips in the planters, and (not clear on the image) but we now have small signs up with verses from psalms in Welsh and English. Brilliant effort everyone - now all we need is the weather to be good for the opening.
