It's with great sadness that we have decided to close our Anchors section for the time being. After launching in 2017 we've had nearly 9 amazing years full of fun and adventures. Our youngest children have been on multiple trips, learned new skills and created some masterpieces in their time! Sadly we've had dwindling numbers in recent years leading to the decision as it has become more challenging to run the exciting programme we enjoy. We've seen 100s of children coming through Anchors in the years we've been open, and some of our current Juniors and Company members have been with us since they were Anchors themselves, which we love. Here are some of the memories we have to look back on since we opened. Thank you to all the children and parents who have joined and supported us over the years.

A group of our young people were at the Swansea.com stadium this morning to cheer on Kevin Sinfield for the Welsh leg of his 7 in 7 challenge, raising money for motor neurone disease. They were there in memory of Geoff Wheel who was a leader in the company for many years and passed away from MND last year

Our awesome company football team went to Reading yesterday to take part in the Boys Brigade National Football competition. They played excellently, showing brilliant team work and football skills. Unfortunately they didn't make it through to the next round, but it was only their first competition and we're very proud of them.

We've had a busy week as a company this week. Our Anchors on Tuesday had a session on remembrance, thinking about those who came home from war with different disabilities, and made a wreath for church on Sunday. On Saturday night our Company members took part in the Boys Brigade national master team competition. This afternoon members from Juniors and Company took part in the civic parade with other cadets and uniformed organisations, and attended the service of remembrance at Swansea Minster. Thank you to all the members who have done such a good job of represented the company this weekend

This week we had our presentation evening to celebrate the achievements of our young people over the year. It's always a lovely opportunity to come together as a Company, even if it was a little warm! All of our young people have worked hard and achieved a lot this year, but a special congratulations to our endeavour award winners- Kylaa Bartlett, Joseph Alder and Tyler Tyrell. This year our Anchor of the year is Isaiah Davies, Junior of the year is Arthur Evans, and Company member of the year is Tia-Brooke Watkins. Well done to all. This year we also thanked all our leaders, especially those who are moving on, and dedicated the Geoff Wheel Memorial Shield for Junior of the Year, which we'll be starting to use in 2027. Thank you to all the parents and everyone who supports the company over the year

This weekend we had our annual Juniors and Company Camp to Viney Hill Christian Adventure Centre in the Forest of Dean, with a trip to Go Ape on the way home. We're all very tired but we had an incredible weekend and were so proud of all the kids who came, so for the first time. They were an absolute pleasure all weekend, looking after each other and pushing themselves to try new things that they were nervous about. Here's some of the highlights including our night time walk, campfire, high and low ropes, water fight and tree tops. We were fortunate to be able to visit Go Ape on the way home thanks to funding from Tesco Stronger Starts blue tokens.

Our members across all sections have made us proud marking VE Day this week. Anchors made some union jack cupcakes and an Anderson shelter. Juniors and Company had a VE Day themed session including making paper aeroplanes to answer a quiz and making rationed mug cakes! Seniors were off to London with 3 of them privileged to attend the service in Westminster Abbey, and a bigger group invited to the VE Day concert on Horse Guards Parade. This afternoon a small number represented the company at the VE Day Commemoration service in Swansea Minster. Thank you and well done to everyone who has been involved over the week
