Eden is our new Overall Leader of Explorer Camp. Here she shares her story of faith, journey through Hants & Dorset and her vision for Explorer Camp.
I’m Eden and I’m so excited to see how God moves at Explorer Camp every summer.
I love being outdoors, walking my dog and wildlife photography. I’m also a little competitive, so wherever there’s a games night, I’m there! Thunderstorms are always my favourite things to listen to (not when camping) and Autumn is my favourite season. I’m a children’s pastor and enjoy being around people, especially if there’s food!
My first experience of Hants and Dorset Christian Youth Camp was when I was 19 years old and attended Inheritance Camp, which was amazing! After graduating from university, I went on to start my own dance business, leading a few different groups for different ages.
When Covid hit, I had to pause the dancing. It was at this time I felt God wanted me in kids’ ministry. A few years ago, I had a vision of leading a camp, which I believe was God-inspired. That brings me here to H&D.
Last year I was on the Explorer Camp Team and it was amazing! To be able to witness children growing in faith, a team fulfilling their potential as children’s leaders and to see the Holy Spirit move in camp is an extraordinary experience.
My vision for Explorer Camp is for the children to GROW in faith, MOVE with the Holy Spirit and BUILD friendships. The way that children get to experience this is through worship, fellowship and lots of FUN activities too!
