Everybody very welcome at each and every service

We have a Children’s Area with books and toys if you and your family would like to use it 🧸

Feel free to stay for refreshments afterwards ☕️

Come along to the Coffee Morning at the Brick Room, Main Street, Linton between 10am and 12 noon every Monday. A hot drink and biscuit for £1.50 and a refill of a hot drink for £1

We are extremely grateful to all who make an annual donation to the Churchyard Fund. This is a restricted fund so all money given goes towards the maintenance and upkeep of the churchyard, mowing, strimming, hedge trimming etc etc… 😀

It’s amazing when we discover family information re some of the graves in our churchyard.

Some months ago, Dale Elliott contacted the page with information regarding his great, great grandfather, Jonathan Parker (1838-1893).

Jonathan grew up at 89 Linton Heath and was a clerk at the mine in the late 1800s, a member of the Linton and Castle Gresley School Board and a local preacher. He was married to Hannah and they had six children, Elizabeth, John, James, Jonathan, George and Clara.

Clara was Dale’s great grandmother. She left Linton at a young age to train as a nurse, eventually qualifying and marrying an Ironstone mine employee and moving to North Yorkshire.

Dale has been researching his family tree and will visit the grave which we’ve now identified as being in the churchyard when he passes through the area in the near future.

All this brings family history to life. Fantastic!

Does anyone recognise this bike with a damaged front wheel? It’s been behind church for a few weeks. Not sure if stolen, dumped or if someone is going to be collecting it but it would be great if someone recognises it!
