What is prayer?
To pray is to make our hearts ready to experience the love of God in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Praying regularly will help us to develop a spiritual rhythm. A discipline of prayer changes the way that we think about our lives, because it creates new habits of heart and mind. Prayer opens us more deeply to the transforming grace of God. We enter into God’s presence, allowing the Holy Spirit to pray in us 🙏

St Mary Magdalene, Sutton in Ashfield is hosting the Diocesan Evening of Prayer on Thursday 8th October 7.30pm-9pm (refreshments served at 7pm)

The Diocesan Day of Prayer’s evening meeting is a time of worship, prayer and refreshing led by Bishop Paul and open to all. We pray for fresh moves of the Holy Spirit in our lives, our churches and our schools, such that will bring an overflow of God’s blessing to people everywhere across our city, county and beyond.

Rev’d Julie announced today that Kitty, Richard and Adam are training as licensed lay ministers at St Mary’s in Sutton. Favour is to be our youth intern working with Kitty on youth projects especially sport and ministry through sports. We prayed for them on their exciting endeavours 🙏
