Power For Good

Power For Good Power for Good is a Community Energy Co-operative, currently working to install photovoltaic panels

Power for Good seeks to create a community of places of worship as a witness to the urgent need that we stop burning using fossil fuels that are threatening the planet’s climate. We are doing this by inviting investors to buy community shares in Power for Good. The funding raised through the share offer will fund the installation of photovoltaic panels on places of worship.

Power for Good is in the process of selling our three solar arrays to Big Solar Co-operative, as agreed at our last AGM. Once this has happened we will dissolve ourselves as a Society. We have come to the conclusion we need to do this as the members of the Board are not getting any younger... Thank you very much to all of our supporters for investing in us and making our three arrays possible, to the benefit of our three host churches. In many ways it's been a successful 10 years, but now is the time to hand over the baton.
All our members will receive a repayment of their capital over the next few months, once the sale has been completed. We would like to encourage those of you who can, to reinvest in Big Solar.

The Big Solar Co-op is a not-for-profit, carbon-first and people-powered organisation. We’re solarising commercial and community buildings all over the UK from doctors surgeries to factories and…

Support the Local Electricity Bill

The UK is not meeting its climate change targets. Our recovery from COVID-19 must also accelerate the low-carbon transition to prevent dangerous levels of warming by the end of the century1.

The Local Electricity Bill can play a key role. If made law, it would unleash the huge potential for more small-scale renewable energy generation by empowering community energy groups to sell their clean energy directly to local people. This would strengthen local economies and tackle climate change simultaneously.
