Came across a sentence that moved my heart in preparation for preaching this Sunday. Derek Kidner commenting on Ecclesiastes 7:29: ‘our many schemes, our clouding of moral issues, our refusal of the straight way, are our fault not our fate’. Wisdom seems beyond us, the pursuit of which's really hard, but never give up on wisdom.

All are welcome to join us for worship at 10:30am & 5pm.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust. ”Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

Worship the Lord our protector this Sunday.

Looking for a church in Sunderland?

We offer a striving to be faithful, reformed and biblical Christianity. We read the Word, hear expository sermons and celebrate the Sacrament weekly. We sing psalms and theologically rich hymns. We confess our sins, we affirm the faith using ancient creeds, we pray using the words our Saviour gave to His disciples. We remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

We meet for gathered worship every Sunday at 10:30am & 5pm.

Now what? The past reveals present realities. Join us tomorrow as we reflect on the Christmas story and why it matters more than anything for today, for tomorrow and at all times.

Worshipping the Lord at 10:30am & 5pm.

(By the way, he's meant to be a sad Christmas tree who's fallen on hard times after the feasting ceased - cheer him up and come to church)

"Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven" - this week I'll be exploring the third petition of the Lord's Prayer in our evening service. If you'd like to grow in your understanding of God, His will and the prayer Jesus left His Church come and join us.

In the morning I'll be thinking about the romance of Christianity.

Lots of good stuff.

10:30am & 5pm Fulwell Community Centre.
