We were blessed on sunday to have 7 baptisms during the service and some amazing testimonies. But what is baptism and why do we do it ?
Baptism is more than a tradition — it is a powerful step of obedience, faith, and commitment in our walk with God. Jesus Himself was baptised and calls believers to follow Him in this act of faith (Matthew 28:19).
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformation. It symbolises leaving the old life behind and being raised into a new life with Christ. It is a public declaration that we belong to Jesus and have chosen to follow Him wholeheartedly.
When we are baptised, we are saying:
💧 I have repented and turned to God
💧 I believe Jesus is my Lord and Saviour
💧 I am committed to growing in faith
💧 I want to live a life led by the Holy Spirit
Baptism does not save us on its own, but it is an important act of obedience and a beautiful milestone in our Christian journey. It marks the beginning of a deeper commitment to walk closely with God, trust His Word, and live for His glory.
If you have given your life to Christ and have not yet been baptised, prayerfully consider taking that next step. God is calling His people into deeper faith, greater surrender, and joyful obedience.
“For we were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4 (NIV)
