In recent years we ended the tradition of sending corporate gifts and Christmas cards to clients by reallocating funds in the way of donations to worthwhile local and regional charitable causes in need of help.
This year our chosen 3 local charities are Norahs North Pole, Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen and St Anthony’s Catholic Academy Food Bank. Below is a summary of the amazing work each of those organisations provide in our local communities.
1. Norahs North Pole elves work with schools and social teams to get Santa sacks to the most vulnerable children in the North East. The funds raised are spent on providing Santa Sacks to fill with gifts, including Chocolate selection box for each of the Santa Sacks, toys and food parcels to go with the Santa sacks for those who will not have enough food this Christmas.
2. Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen exists in order to ensure that people in Sunderland don’t need to go without. No questions are asked, just turn up and you’ll be provided with hot, wholesome, hearty and healthy food — something of a luxury to the poorest and most vulnerable in our society. Its important we try to help these people all year round but brings it more into context when we are thinking about sitting round a table in a nice warm home tucking in to our Christmas Lunches and enjoying time with our families.
3. St Anthony’s Girls Catholic Academy Food Bank. The all girls school in Sunderland welcome and accept donations of food which is distributed confidentially to pupils and their families who need it most.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Best wishes from all the team at L&P
