Welcome to our Parish Pilgrimage.

Meeting at 8.30am at Holy Trinity,Stroud...Today we will journey together through seven of the nine churches that make up the Stroud Team Ministry. As we walk, we will pray, worship, share food, enjoy fellowship, and visit communities that are each unique in character and calling, yet united in their witness to Jesus Christ.

The Stroud Team Ministry spans six parishes, nine churches, villages, housing estates, suburbs, and the town centre itself. Every church we visit today has its own story, its own gifts, and its own ministry. Yet together they form one church family, seeking to serve the people of this area in the name of Christ.

You may notice that at each stop our prayers focus less on the past and more on the present and future. While we give thanks for the generations who have worshipped before us, we are not here simply to admire historic buildings. These churches are living communities of faith. They are places where people gather to worship, where children are baptised, where the grieving are comforted, where friendships are formed, where communities are served, and where God's mission continues today.

As pilgrims, we walk not simply to visit churches, but to pray for the people who worship in them, the communities they serve, and the work God is already doing in each place. May this day deepen our sense of belonging to one another and renew our commitment to joining in with God's work across the Stroud Team Ministry.

"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labour in vain." (Psalm 127:1)

Assembly Bangers" brings the joy of school hymns back to Stratford Park
This Sunday (24th) at 3pm we have something a little different taking place at the Stratford Park Bandstand — "Assembly Bangers"!

Come along for an hour of nostalgic singing as we revisit some of the great school assembly classics that many of us grew up with. Whether it's songs that still make you smile or tunes you haven't heard in years, it promises to be a joyful and relaxed afternoon together.

A Churches Together in Stroud (CTiS) event and Rev Simon and rev James will be leading the music, and our friends from the Salvation Army will be there offering refreshments. Bring a chair, bring a picnic, bring some friends, and come ready to sing your heart out in the open air.

We would love to see you there.

Do join us - not your usual Sunday morning service! with:-
- huge art-installation of the burning bush that Moses encountered, as the backdrop for…
- …the teenage circus-wizards from the School of Larks working with me on a piece (wot I wrote) for 'Moments' - with a narrative-rhythm to a djembe beat - called "Brendan McMoses & the Scrubland Punks" (I know!)
- a glimpse of 'punk spirituality' (ie rebellious change-making), taking inspiration from the life of Moses and others
- Community songs that, à la Glastonbury Festival, have come to be known as 'Primary School Bangers' (eg 'Sing Hosanna', 'This little light of mine'…), so that everyone can sing along with gusto…
- …and still, somehow, incorporating elements of the St Laurence ambience - ie instances of stillness, harmony-singing & chants.
Not to be missed!
