☀️😎 SUMMER LOADING ………. 😎☀️

Summer holidays are nearly here and we have some fun activities to keep us busy come rain or shine!

Our holiday club will run each Monday from 10:30 to 12:00 starting Monday 6th July in Strathaven or Chapelton. We have Bible stories, games and crafts for all in P1-P7.

Monday afternoons from
13th-27th July at 1pm we have summer craft activities for all ages. ‼️ carers need to stay with those under school age.

For 8 Wednesdays from 1st July we continue exploring the life and ministry of Jesus with a Bible study accompanying the hit show The Chosen. We will meet in Strathaven small hall from 7pm.

Glassford Church

Last night the church was full as we remembered and gave thanks for all who have served and worshipped in Glassford Church over many centuries. The service was led by our minister, Rt. Rev Dr Shaw Paterson and all who have assisted in worship over the last few years took part. We were entertained by the wonderful children of Glassford Primary and by Æthan and Cam, accompanied by our organist Anita. It was a very sad but strangely joyful occasion as we remembered all that Glassford Chuch has given to the community over so many years.

This is Volunteers week.

We would like to thank all of the volunteers who ensure that all of our church organisation can thrive - the officers of the Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade, all who volunteer at the Memory Club and Heart for Art, the ladies of the Guild, all involved in pastoral care and children’s activities and many more.

We are truly thankful to all of them who ensure that our church provides valuable support in our church and community.

Glassford Church

As we move towards the closing chapter in the life of our church building in Glassford, a special service has been arranged to mark this significant and emotional time in our shared story. At 6.30pm on Sunday 7th June we will gather for a Service of Thanksgiving . This will be an opportunity to pause, reflect and give thanks for all that this place has meant - not only to those who worship there week by week but to generations who have passed through its doors. It will be a service shaped by gratitude, memory and faith. We will be joined by the local primary school and invitations will be sent to those who have led worship over the years. All members and friends of Trinity Church and the Glassford community are invited to attend the Service of Thanksgiving.

We like faith
when it stays manageable.

Neat. Quiet. Contained.

A candle lit gently.
A prayer whispered softly.
A hymn sung the way we’ve always sung it.

But Pentecost arrives
like the windows have been flung open
without warning.

Wind rushing through frightened hearts.
Fire dancing above ordinary people.
Voices rising louder than fear.

And suddenly
disciples who’d hidden away
are in the streets
speaking about Jesus
like the story matters too much
to keep to themselves anymore.

Not scholars.
Not the powerful.
Just ordinary people
set alight by the Spirit of God.

People who’d doubted.
People who’d failed.
People who’d run away when things became costly.

Yet God chose them anyway.

Because the Spirit doesn’t wait
for polished people
with perfect words and unwavering confidence.

The Spirit comes to real people.
To anxious people.
To weary people.
To people who still carry grief in their bones
and uncertainty in their stomachs.

And through wind and fire
and trembling voices
the good news travels.

Across languages.
Across barriers.
Across the spaces
we keep trying to divide into us and them.

Because the peace of Christ
isn't something to hide away
behind locked church doors
or careful conversations.

It moves.

Through kindness shared freely.
Through courage that surprises us.
Through invitations spoken awkwardly
but honestly.
Through people willing to say
this story changed me
and I think it might change you too.

Pentecost isn't a festival of standing still.

It is wind.
It is movement.
It is hearts catching fire again.

And in the noise and wonder of it all
God is still there
breathing life
into tired people,
and sending ordinary disciples
into the world
carrying the love of Christ in their hands.

Glassford Church - 10am

Come and join us tomorrow as we celebrate in a Service of Holy Communion. All are welcome to join us in the sacrament and in fellowship over tea/coffee after service.
We will also be welcoming a new member who is being admitted by Profession of Faith.
This will be the last opportunity to attend a Service of Holy Communion in Glassford as sadly Glassford Church is closing at end of June.
