On the site of a former Saxon monastery the magnificent riverside church dates from 1210 and is Stratford upon Avon's oldest building. William Shakespeare was baptised here in 1564, saw his daughters married here and lies buried in the chancel. Visitors come from all over the world to see his grave and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this English parish church. A donation is encouraged for those visiting the chancel and grave. Adults £2, Concessions (Seniors and Students) £1,11-16 year olds 50p, younger children free.
