Donagheady Parish Donagheady has been one of the "Donagh" churches in the diocese of Derry for more than fourteen hundred years. Patrick's, Killenagh, and St. Mary's, Aughabrack.

I would like to invite all those who helped in any way with the celebration of my golden jubilee, to dinner in the Hall at Aughabrack on Friday 16 October, 7.30 for 8.00p.m. That includes those who prepared and decorated the church and the hall, those who participated in the liturgy, especially the organist, choirs and soloists, those who helped with the parking, and the team of caterers who provided a delicious supper. Season of Creation 2026: The Season of Creation takes place from 1 September to 4 October, bringing Christians throughout the world together in prayer, reflection and action for the care of our common home. This year’s theme, Living Water, invites us to give thanks for the gift of water and renew our care for God’s creation.

Donegal Group 173 Rise and Shine Trust (formerly The Irish Handicapped Children's Pilgrimage Trust and The Irish Pilgrimage Trust) are celebrating 40 years of taking young people with special needs to Lourdes each Easter. We are celebrating with a special Mass on Saturday 26th September in the Church of the Irish Martyr's Letterkenny at 12 noon. The Mass will be concelebrated by Bishop Niall Coll and Bishop Donal Mc Keowan Diocese of Derry and many of the priests who travelled to Lourdes with us over the years. We invite all the guests and their families and all the helpers who travelled with us over the years to our mass to celebrate Our Lady of Lourdes.

The Padre Pio Prayer Group, Holy Family Chapel, Ballymagroarty will take place on Tuesday 1 September 2026. Starting with Rosary at 6.45pm before mass, celebration of holy mass at 7.15pm, then the priest will bless everyone with a first class relic of St. Pio, while closing prayers are recited. EVERYONE WELCOME.

We pray for the happy repose of the soul of Dick Donaghey, 59 Gortileck Road, Donemana.

Dick will be reposing in his home on Wednesday from 7 - 10 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 - 10 p.m. For convenience of parking there will be a shuttle bus to the wake from Upper Gortileck.

Funeral from there on Friday at 11:25 a.m. for 12 o'clock Requiem Mass in Saint Patrick's Church, Donemana. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Last call for a day on Lough Derg
A group from the parish are hoping to visit Lough Derg for a one-day retreat on Saturday, 29th August 2026. If you would like to join them, please email [email protected] before Monday 24 August, to register your interest and help us make transport arrangements. The cost will be 50 euros/£45 for the day on the island, including tea/scone on arrival plus lunch. Bus will be an additional cost….we will know nearer the time depending on numbers.

Cemetery maintenance
A lot of work has been done in the cemeteries leaving them in excellent order. In order to maintain the standard, would people visiting graves please either bin rubbish, or take it away with them.
If you are having work done on headstones or surrounds, would you please ensure that the contactors remove all rubble and detritus from the cemetery. In the past, too many have simply dumped this in a corner of the cemetery.

We pray for the happy repose of the soul of Kathleen Donaghy née Harkin, of Carrickayne Road, Craigbane, Claudy, Co Derry. (Formerly Loughash).

Reposing at her brother Thomas’s home 3 Loughash Road, Aughabrack, Co Tyrone on Thursday 20th of August 2026. Wake commencing at 2pm.

Family time 10pm to 11am.

A bus will be provided from Loughash Primary School to the wake house nearby.

Funeral on Saturday 22nd of August 2026 leaving her brother’s home at 10.20am for 11am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Aughabrack.

Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
