You are warmly invited to join us at Cedars School this Sunday at 10:30am as we continue our series, ‘The King God Chose’, exploring the life of David. Last Sunday we began by seeing how God chose David, not because of his outward appearance or status, but because ‘the Lord looks at the heart’. This Sunday, we move on to one of the best known stories in the Bible: David and Goliath, in a message called 'The Battle is the Lord's'.

David faced an enemy who seemed far stronger than he was, but his confidence was not in himself. He trusted in the God who had proved himself faithful. As we look at David’s trust in God, we’ll also see how this familiar story points beyond David to Jesus, the true Champion who defeats our greatest enemies and brings us salvation.

The children will be really excited to know that all our children’s and youth groups are restarting this Sunday.

At the end of the service, we will celebrate the Lord’s grace together through communion, and the children will come back in to join us for this.

You are warmly invited to join us at Cedars School tomorrow at 10:30am as we begin a new series, ‘The King God Chose’, exploring the life of David.

David’s story is full of courage, faith, failure, friendship, suffering, repentance and restoration. Over the coming weeks, we’ll follow his journey from an overlooked shepherd boy to Israel’s king, think about what we can learn from his life, and see how his story ultimately points us to the greater King, Jesus, and the saving grace he came to bring.

This Sunday we’re looking at the moment when David was anointed to be king. Samuel was impressed by David’s older brothers, but God reminded him that ‘the Lord looks at the heart’. As we begin David’s story, we are reminded that God is far more concerned with the person we are becoming on the inside than with how we appear to others.

You are warmly invited to join us for our Sunday service at 10:30am at Cedars School. This Sunday, we’ll be wrapping up our series, ‘Questions Jesus Asked’, as Jonathan preaches from Matthew 16:13–27 on Jesus’ question, ‘Who do you say I am?’

Peter’s response to that question is one of the most important statements about Jesus in the whole of the Bible. He says, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.’ We’ll be unpacking this passage by thinking about who Jesus really is, what his Messianic ministry involved, and what it means to follow him.

There will be a crèche, but Junior Church and Youth Church are still on their summer break and will remain in the service. Activity sheets will be available for the Junior Church children.

You are warmly invited to join us for our Sunday service at 10:30am at Cedars School. We’ll be continuing our series, ‘Questions Jesus Asked’.

This week Henry will be looking at Jesus’ question, ‘Which is easier?’ from Matthew 9:1–8. When Jesus tells a paralysed man that his sins are forgiven, the religious leaders are outraged because they recognise that only God can forgive sins. Jesus then heals the man, demonstrating that he has authority on earth to forgive sins. It’s a remarkable glimpse of who Jesus really is: not simply a teacher or healer, but the Son of God who has come to forgive and restore.

There will be a crèche, but Junior Church and Youth Church are on their summer break until the start of the new school year and will remain in the service. Activity sheets will be available for the Junior Church children.

You are warmly invited to join us for our Sunday service at 10:30am at Cedars School. We'll be continuing our series, 'Questions Jesus Asked'.

This week Wes will be preaching on Jesus' question, 'Why are you afraid?' from Matthew 8:23–27. As the disciples face a terrifying storm on the Sea of Galilee, Jesus challenges both their fear and their faith, reminding us that the One who is with us in the storm is also the One who has authority over it.

We look forward to gathering together for our Sunday service at 10:30am at Cedars School. We'll be wrapping up our series exploring God's character, and we'll be thinking about ‘The God Who Judges’ as we unpack these words: 'Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished.'

Over the past few weeks we've spent lots of time marvelling at God's love, grace and compassion. At first, his judgement can seem difficult to fit alongside those things. Yet God's judgement isn't a contradiction of his goodness. It's actually an expression of it. A God who never dealt with evil, injustice or sin would not be good. His judgement is the assurance that wrong will not have the final word, and that he is committed to putting all things right.

You are warmly invited to join us for our Sunday service this weekend at 10:30am at Cedars School. We'll continue our series exploring God's character through his self revelation in Exodus 34:6–7. This week we'll be thinking about 'The God Who Loves' as we unpack these wonderful words: 'abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin.'
