Not everyone you see is living. Some are just surviving battles no one knows about.
Behind every tired face may be a heart carrying pain, loss, loneliness, or worries that only Allah knows. Some people smile in public while crying in private. Some spend their nights raising their hands in du’a while tears fall from their eyes. Their struggle may be hidden from people, but it is never hidden from Allah.
Allah says:
“For indeed, with hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease.”
(Surah Ash-Sharh 94:5-6)
As Muslims, we are taught to be gentle with people because we never truly know what they are carrying inside. A kind word, a sincere du’a, or a small act of mercy may be the reason someone’s heart finds comfort today.
The Messenger of Allah ď·ş said:
“The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people.”
Reference: Al-Mu’jam Al-Awsat of At-Tabarani, Hadith 5937 — graded Hasan by Al-Albani in Sahih Al-Jami’ (No. 176).
Before judging someone, make du’a for them. Before speaking harshly, remember that they may be fighting a battle you cannot see. And if you are the one carrying the weight of silent struggles, know that Allah hears every whispered prayer, sees every tear, and records every moment of patience.
No pain is lost with Allah. No hardship is forgotten. The One who knows what is hidden in the hearts knows exactly what you are going through.
“And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him.”
(Surah At-Talaq 65:3)
May Allah ease the burdens of every hurting heart, replace every sorrow with peace, and grant us the ability to show mercy to those around us. Ameen.
