We are sad to let people know that earlier this evening the fence between St Barnabas’ Church and the vicarage was on fire.

We are very grateful to the members of our local community who rallied round to help, especially to the guys who used extinguishers from their work vans to put out the worst of it, and to those who knocked on the vicarage door to let us know about it.

We are also very grateful to Staffordshire Fire Service who have made the area safe.

We don’t know if it was set deliberately or not, but, thinking about the poor people in Goldenhill who have had it a lot worse today, things could have been much worse for us too. There is no point speculating about how it started; instead, let’s all keep an eye out for each other, and remind those who need to be reminded just how dangerous fire is.

Once again, thank you to the Bradwell Community for your support tonight. 🙏
