Merry Christmas from the Green Family!
We hope that your Christmas season is blessed with the joy of being with the ones you love and with the joy of resting who our Lord truly is.

Merry Christmas to each of you! May God bless you with a blessed time with family and friends 🙏

“If we were to remove the words bless, blessed, and blessing from the Christian vocabulary, our prayer life, congregational worship, and preaching would be greatly affected. These are friendly words we're accustomed to hearing and using, and life would be barren without them. ‘Don’t say to God, “Bless the missionaries,”’ I heard a veteran missionary say. ‘Pray for our specific needs,’ he explained. ‘Ask God to protect us, provide for us, and help us to glorify Jesus. Pray that we don’t become discouraged. Pray for labourers to join us in the work.’” – Warren Wiersbe, Bless You
Wise words, Mr. Wiersbe!

This week we’ve had a youth group (and youth workers) from a partner church of ours in Fort Worth, Texas. They left this morning 😞. They’ve been such a blessing to us and our church!
Yesterday, a group of us were out having Gospel conversations in Hanley. My friends Isobel and Jimmy from Texas spoke with a young lady who trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. There were people walking past, and some were staring. Still, this young lady deemed the seriousness of her sin and the need of salvation to be far more important. (She was right!)
There is nothing more important than having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This young lady became a believing Christian outside of a bus station. She didn’t need a priest, vicar or pastor to take her to Jesus. He met her there.
Likewise, there is a wonderful promise in Scripture for you:
“That if thou shalt CONFESS with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED.”

I’m not sure that there is a country in the world where the church is so obsessed with being PC. Please pray for the spiritual state of Britain.

We were grateful for a brilliant day yesterday. We were able to see 2 baptised, 3 join the church, and several unsaved hear the Gospel.
It was especially stirring to hear the two teenagers (Shaun and Sandra) talk about the change in their lives since being born again!

5 years of life in Britain 🇬🇧!
On 1st November, 2012 our family moved to Britain. Thinking back on the ensuing weeks, there were a lot of fears and anxieties about stepping out on our own in an entirely new country/ culture.
When we first came, we just wanted to live the British way and to dissolve into the culture.
My favourite story in relation to this is about the heating. I had asked someone what temp most people set their heat on; they told me between 18-20 degrees C (about 64-68 degrees F). Somehow that information was stored into my memory (in true Matt Green fashion) as 12 degrees (about 54 F)! 🤦‍♂️ So for several days I voluntarily froze my little family until a friend informed us that 12 was entirely too cold 😂.
Grateful for the support of great friends. Probably wouldn’t have survived the first few months without them.
Still thrilled to be here and grateful to God for putting me into His ministry!

Please help us pray for this service taking place tomorrow. Here are three ways you can pray:
1. Pray for the preaching. Though the sermon will be brief and time-restricted, our great desire is that the exposition of the Word will fall upon good ground and that the message would be clear.
2. Pray for the congregational singing. Our people love to sing and usually do so passionately. Pray that this would shine through the radio broadcast.
3. Pray for the youth choir. This recording will be broadcast to over 40,000 people, and, understandable, the teenagers are nervous. Pray for God to use them greatly.
But,ultimately, please pray that God would be immensely glorified because of what happens tomorrow.

This coming Sunday, 9th July, BBC Radio Stoke will be recording our morning service and will broadcast it to more than 40,000 people at a future date! If you have been think about visiting, this would be an exciting time to pop in!
Service begins at 10:30am, but please arrive at least 10 min. early to accommodate the folks for BBC Radio.
If you have children, then bring them along, too. Children will be in the adjacent hall, for an organised children's service.
We are also excited to have Congleton Baptist Church joining us for the morning service!
