⚠️ IMPORTANT⚠️

We will not be meeting at the church building this Sunday morning because we’re going on our little jolly to Rudyard for church by the lake. Anyone is welcome to join us - message for the details - but please don’t come to the building. We hate the thought of you turning up and finding nobody there to welcome you!

Back at the building next Sunday 10:30am as normal (with a very warm welcome and a nice cuppa ☕️).

Sunday was a very special day for our church family, celebrating five people who have come to know Jesus. They told their own stories of how God has revealed himself to them, which were all different, but a recurring theme was the ✌️peace✌️they now have knowing they are completely forgiven because Jesus died and rose again. Then we watched as they were fully submerged under the water - picturing Jesus’ death and burial - and we shouted for joy as they came back up - picturing Jesus’ resurrection.

Are they Christians now they’ve been baptised?

Actually, there was nothing special in the water (apart from a toy snake and a toy whale but that’s another story). Being baptised hasn’t made them Christians. They became Christians when they turned away from loving their sin, turned towards Jesus, and trusted that his death and resurrection is all they need to be forgiven forever. They were no more “Christian” coming out of the water than they were getting in. The point of the baptism is to show the world what’s happened to them. And what a joy it was! 🥳

If you’d like to find out more about having peace with God, knowing you’re forgiven, knowing where you’re going after you die, knowing the purpose of life, etc then please feel free to message us any time or join us Sunday mornings at 10:30am.
