May your roots in Christ hold you. Whether you feel like your life is in summer’s bloom or that you have been stripped back by winter’s winds, may you be sustained and anchored by the goodness and the grace of Jesus. May you be reminded that God guards you always.

Good morning; the Lord be with you on Christmas eve, the 26th day of Advent.

READING:
The time came for Mary to deliver her child.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son
and wrapped him in bands of cloth,
and laid him in a manger,
because there was no place for them in the inn. (Luke 2:6-7)

REFLECTION:
Welcome all wonders in one sight!
Eternity shut in a span.
Summer in winter, day in night,
heaven in earth and God in man.
Great little one whose all-embracing birth
brings earth to heaven, stoops heaven to earth.

PRAY:
Use the first verse of Silent Night as your prayer today:

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace

ACT:
Join in a service today, be it in church, online or through television.

Today's Gospel(December 21, 2025)
Matthew 1:18-24

The birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit; and her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to send her away quietly. But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit; she will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfil what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel” (which means, God with us). When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him.

TODAY'S REFLECTION:
Lord, if there is one human being who went through a severe crisis before your coming into our world it was your legal father Joseph. I can only guess what mental agony he went through, confronted with the reality that his beloved spouse was bearing a child in her womb, who was not his child. Confusion and doubt must have arrived at his decision to divorce Mary privately. Anyone else in his place would have hated the woman who cheated on him and would have ensured the maximum punishment for her infidelity. But the just Joseph decided to safeguard her honour, not exposing her to publicity and shame. Then comes the unbelievable annunciation to Joseph! And he believes in the words of the Angel and acts on it. Lord, you followed these tragic moments from within your mother’s womb, and certainly you must have been thankful to your foster father for his decision!

Let Us Pray:
In the name of Jesus, I come before thy throne of grace, seeking your divine guidance and direction concerning my life this day. Give me the courage to trust you and to follow the path of faith and righteousness as you take the lead as my shepherd. Lord Jesus my shepherd, as I walk in this journey of life, be my Rock and Fortress, show me favour and guide me in my entire affairs, even in the midst of storm let your hand hold me firm to yourself preserve me in my going out and my coming in, O Angels and Saints of God grant me your fraternal assistance that I may persevere in following the footsteps of Jesus our Lord and Shepherd both now and forever in the name of Jesus our Lord who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.

Have a purposeful Sunday and God bless.

As we journey through Advent, we hear the call of John the Baptist: to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ through repentance and renewal. His message reminds us to make room for God’s transforming grace in our lives and in our world.

Bible Verse:
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” (Matthew 3:2)

Prayer:
Gracious God, prepare our hearts to receive Your peace. Help us to walk in the way of Christ, bringing reconciliation and love to the world. Amen.
