Title: The Christian's Battle
Speaker: Paul Flynn
Series: 1 Timothy
Date: 31 May 2026
Bible: 1 Timothy 1:18-2:4

This sermon presents a compelling vision of the Christian life, as seen in the pastoral ministry of Timothy and Paul, as a spiritual battle rooted in the sovereignty of God, the calling of every believer as a soldier in His army, and the necessity of maintaining faith and a good conscience amid persistent spiritual warfare. Centred on 1 Timothy 1:18–2:4, it emphasizes that the Christian's struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces, requiring steadfastness in the gospel, disciplined holiness, and constant reliance on prayer. The passage calls believers to intercede for all people—including leaders and enemies—because God desires the salvation of all and has provided the truth through Christ. Ultimately, the message is one of hope: though the battle is real, it is fought under the authority of a sovereign Saviour, with the promise that prayer, truth, and perseverance lead to peace, transformation, and the ultimate fulfillment of God’s redemptive purpose. www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/632620401428

Title: The Love That Pleases God
Speaker: Paul Flynn
Series: John
Date: 2 June 2026
Bible: John 13:31-38

The sermon centres on the nature of divine love as revealed in Jesus Christ, emphasizing that true, God-pleasing love is not sentimental or self-centered, but rooted in Christ's radiant glory, perfect obedience, and sacrificial sacrifice on the cross. Drawing from John 13:31–38, it highlights how Christ's impending crucifixion—though a moment of humiliation—is the ultimate display of God's glory, where justice, holiness, mercy, and faithfulness converge. This love is not merely a command but a new kind of love, modeled perfectly by Christ and now required of His followers as a mark of discipleship, distinguishing believers by their mutual love. The sermon warns against self-confidence, illustrated by Peter's denial, and calls believers to place their trust not in themselves but in Christ's finished work, finding assurance in His forgiveness and enduring grace. Ultimately, the love that pleases God is not found in human effort, but in beholding Christ's beauty, delighting in His obedience, and resting in His mercy, which draws believers toward eternal joy in His presence. www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/61262340592861

Title: David's Godly Warfare
Speaker: Paul Flynn
Series: 1 Samuel
Date: 26 May 2026
Bible: 1 Samuel 23

This sermon presents a compelling exposition of spiritual warfare through the lens of David’s encounter with the Philistines in 1 Samuel 23, emphasizing that true victory comes not through human strength but through divine guidance, faith, and reliance on God’s sovereign providence. Central to the message is the necessity of prayer as a vital weapon in the believer’s arsenal, reflecting a heart after God’s own that seeks His will in every decision. The sermon highlights God’s faithful provision and protection, illustrated by the unexpected intervention that halted Saul’s pursuit, underscoring that God’s timing and control often surpass human perception. It calls believers to persevere in faith, trusting in Christ—the greater David—whose victory secures our eternal hope, even amid present trials and the deceptive confidence of the world. Ultimately, the sermon affirms that while the battle rages, the outcome is certain, and believers are called to fix their eyes on Christ, the source of lasting peace and unshakable victory. www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/61261945482818

Title: The People of the King
Speaker: Paul Flynn
Date: 24 May 2026
Bible: Psalm 89:15-18

This sermon, drawn from Psalm 89:15–18, presents a profound meditation on the identity and blessings of being part of God's kingdom, emphasizing that true joy and security are found in recognizing Jesus Christ as King. It unfolds through four interwoven themes: the joyful sound of God's voice, which brings comfort and authority to believers; the light of His countenance, symbolizing divine truth and guidance that dispels fear and darkness; the glory of His name, which compels believers to rejoice and proclaim His greatness; and the divine defense of the Lord, who stands as an unshakable shield against spiritual warfare. Rooted in Scripture and grounded in the reality of Christ's eternal kingship, the message calls the faithful to embrace His authority, walk in His light, boast in His glory, and trust in His protection, all while warning against the world's rejection of divine rule and the danger of misplaced trust in temporal things. www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/6126183359935

Speaker: Paul Flynn
Series: John
Date: 24 May 2026
Bible: John 13:20-30

The sermon centres on the ongoing, continuous reception of Jesus Christ as evidence of authentic faith, drawing from John 13:20–30 to emphasize that true discipleship is not a one-time decision but a daily, transformative relationship with Christ. It highlights the vital connection between receiving Christ’s messengers, embracing divine truth, and discerning genuine spiritual nourishment from counterfeit teachings, while warning against the peril of unbelief exemplified by Judas, whose heart hardened despite intimate proximity to Jesus. Title: A Picture of Redemption
Speaker: Paul Flynn
Date: 28 May 2026
Bible: Psalm 80:8

This sermon presents Psalm 80:8 as a rich metaphor of redemption, portraying God's sovereign power in rescuing sinners from spiritual bo***ge—symbolized by Egypt—and planting them in a new, fruitful inheritance, like a vine transplanted into fertile soil. Centred on the divine initiative, the message emphasises that salvation is entirely God's work, not human effort, highlighting His power, privilege, purpose, and the necessity of humility amid the danger of pride. The imagery of the vine underscores the believer's identity as a redeemed people, called to live in freedom from sin and worldly bo***ge, with the ultimate hope of eternal fruitfulness in the promised land of God's kingdom. Title: Giving God the Glory
Speaker: Paul Flynn
Date: 17 May 2026
Bible: Psalm 115

This sermon, drawn from Psalm 115, calls believers to give God alone the glory by contrasting His infinite majesty with the utter futility of idols. It emphasizes that God, who dwells in heaven and does whatsoever He pleases, is infinitely impressive, holy, and sovereign—worthy of all honor, praise, and trust—while idols, though often adorned with silver and gold, are lifeless, powerless, and ultimately harmful, incapable of seeing, hearing, or helping. The message challenges listeners to recognize the deceptive allure of worldly things and to examine their hearts for residual idolatry, urging a continual turning away from self-reliance and toward faith in God’s faithful provision and wisdom. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a life that consistently attributes every good thing to God, not to self or creation, affirming that true worship is not in human tradition or spectacle, but in the truth of God’s character and the grace of His redemptive work through Christ. www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/52526215843166

Title: Covenant Comfort
Speaker: Paul Flynn
Date: 17 May 2026
Bible: Jeremiah 33:19-26

The sermon draws profound comfort from God's unbreakable covenants, anchoring faith in the certainty of creation—where day and night, seasons, and natural order persist as divine promises—just as God’s covenant with David and the Levites remains steadfast. It emphasises that Christ, the eternal Son of David, fulfills these promises through His crucified and resurrected victory, securing an everlasting kingdom and priesthood that surpasses the temporary Levitical system. The preacher confronts despair by affirming that even in exile, judgment, and cultural decay, God’s mercy endures, His promises are immutable, and His ultimate restoration of His people is certain. By fixing our gaze on Christ, the fulfillment of all covenants, believers find enduring hope, not in shifting circumstances, but in the faithful, sovereign God who governs heaven and earth. www.sermonaudio.com/sermons/523261933184174

Title: Safety with David
Speaker: Paul Flynn
Series: 1 Samuel
Date: 12 May 2026
Bible: 1 Samuel 22

The sermon centres on the theme of finding ultimate safety in Christ, portrayed through the life of David as a type of the greater David, Jesus Christ. It emphasizes that true safety is found not in self-reliance or worldly security, but in recognizing our spiritual weakness, distress, and debt—acknowledging our need for the Saviour. In the midst of warfare and persecution, believers are called to flee to Christ, the only true refuge, where God's Word guides, His protection endures, and His presence brings comfort. The narrative of Abiathar's flight to David illustrates the Christian's call to witness faithfully, even in danger, knowing that eternal security is found only in Christ. The message concludes with a powerful exhortation to remain steadfast in faith, trusting that nothing—neither persecution nor the world's hostility—can take away the believer's eternal inheritance, for in Christ, there is perfect, unshakable safety.
