Doulos is a leadership development programme for young Christian leaders across the Tees Valley.

SERVANT LEADERSHIP
Doulos is about learning to lead like Jesus did- by serving other people. This is backwards to the world’s idea of leadership, which is about setting yourself above others. The verse we focus on is Matthew 20:28, which says ‘the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.’

EXPERIENCE
People learn differently, which is why we create

experiences to explore the Doulos concepts in different ways. Whether it’s climbing a hill to look out over Teesside and talk about vision, or having a Q & A session with today’s inspiring leaders, we want to help you learn to lead by doing things that are exciting! GROWTH
A huge part of being an effective leader is having a close relationship with God. We want to help you grow deeper in your faith, which is why we encourage Doulos participants to meet regularly with a mentor as part of the course. We also provide you with weekly devotionals related to each Doulos theme. MISSION
Getting involved with mission is a great way to grow as a Christian and learn how to serve others. Doulos gives young people the chance to engage with mission projects both locally and abroad. We currently partner with the 58 Foundation in Dallas, Texas, who reach out into some of the city’s poorest communities.

We're blessed to have incredible youth ministers in our area to help raise up local young Christian leaders. On Monday night, Joel visited our Doulos lesson to teach our students about how we use and navigate social media as Christian leaders.

Our Doulos students came away with so many healthy challenges and thoughts around their social media usage - all to become better Jesus followers and stronger servant leaders!

What an incredible team to serve with at .camp 🙌

We are so proud of our 6 Doulos mission team members! We saw them all show so much kindness, love and care to the student campers and we're so proud of their servant hearted attitudes this week. Whether it was leading activities, doing admin, setting up & packing down, planning after hours or hosting from the front, they knocked it out of the park!

Thankful that God brought this team together to work so well and share Jesus with others. We loved facilitating connections of friendship and connections to God and hope everyone who we got to interact with this week will feel those connections more strongly.

Well done team!!! We're SO proud of each and every one one of you ❤️

Doulos is for Christian young people going in to School Yr-10 or above in September. The course meets 9 times in the year alongside additional activities such as our Doulos residential weekend and summer mission project.

We love all the many different ways we get to train young people in leadership. From interactive lessons, group discussion and team building, expert teachers, and trips out to views like this! 🌄

Over the year we go through 8 different lessons on topics of leadership and Christian faith. We know how busy school can keep you, especially with GCSEs so we only meet 1 night a month and focus on working with youth workers to help you put in to practise the lessons you've learned each month.

Let's be real, sometimes it's hard to find other Christians to be friends with! Maybe your church is quite small and you're the only one your age. Or maybe you've not had the chance to meet any other Christian mates in your school. One of our favourite parts about Doulos is the long lasting friendships you get to make with other Christian young people your age! Along with quality teaching and inspiring lessons on leadership, we make sure to give some time and space for friendship as well!

At the beginning of the year we have a weekend residential at Marrick Priory and spend time hanging out, playing games, learning about Jesus and building teamwork together.

We put a lot of pressure on ourselves for the future. Which GCSEs to sit, what Uni to attend, what takeaway order to request. On top of it all, as Christians we believe God has a plan for us, and while that can sometimes seem mysterious, actually it can be really clear! At Doulos we give you the tools not to just be an amazing leader, but also help you find ways to listen to God, to grow your natural gifts and talents, and to try new things you'd never even considered before! We work alongside you to help you gain confidence in where God has placed you and where He is leading you next.

Doulos applications are now open!!! [LINK IN BIO] Are you a young person entering Yr-10 or above in September? Do you love Jesus and have a heart to see your community bettered? Are you interested in being a leader? (Not just someone who speaks up front, but also a leader who serves others and gains confidence to change the world around them). We'd love for you to be part of our new year of Doulos students!

We begin in September and meet once a month and do loads of learning, growing, activities, missioj, and even go on a residential together to build your friendships with other Christian Teesside young people.

👀 101s are talking about VISION. Leaders learn to see ahead and find a vision for their teams to head toward.

😤 201s are talking about DIFFICULT people & things. It isn't all smooth sailing, how do we continue to lead when there are challenges?

💬 301s are learning about PUBLIC SPEAKING. Whether to a big crowd, or a room full of colleagues, being able to communicate clearly and in an engaging way is vital.
