‎إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

With deep sadness we hear of the passing of Sister Suriya Begum رحمه الله. May Allah ﷻ envelop her soul in His infinite mercy, illuminate her grave with nūr, and grant her the highest مقام in Jannat al-Firdaws. Ameen.

In the path of tasawwuf, we are reminded that this dunya is but a temporary station, and every soul journeys back to its Beloved Creator. Those who leave this world with īmān leave not in darkness, but in hope of Divine Mercy.

Our heartfelt condolences to Haji Mohammed Siddique and the entire Siddique family during this difficult time. May Allah grant you sabr jameel, strength, and countless rewards for your patience.

Please remember the deceased in your du‘as, recite Surah al-Fātiḥah, and pray that Allah reunites us all with our loved ones under His Mercy.

اللهم اغفر لها وارحمها وعافها واعف عنها
Ameen Ya Rabb al-‘Alameen.

Ever wondered about that dark mark some Muslims have on their foreheads, often called the “salat mark” or “zebibah”?

It’s not a sign of greater piety, stronger faith, or extra reward from Allah. It’s simply a natural skin reaction, like a small callus, that forms from years of pressing the forehead against the ground during sujood (prostration).

The repeated pressure and friction cause the skin to darken (hyperpigmentation) and slightly thicken (hyperkeratosis) as a way to protect itself. It happens more often when praying on harder surfaces like thin mats, marble, tile, or concrete floors.

Not everyone gets it though. It depends on skin type, genetics, how much pressure someone applies, and the texture of the surface. That’s why many well-known imams, like Sheikh Sudais or Sheikh Shuraim in Makkah, don’t have a visible mark; the Haram has thick, soft, luxurious carpets, so the contact is gentle.

At the end of the day, having the mark or not having it says nothing about a person’s taqwa or closeness to Allah.

Real devotion lives in the heart, not on the forehead.
Let’s focus on sincerity instead of appearances. True faith isn’t measured by skin. 🤍

🌟 An Inspiring Story of Compassion 🌟

A Muslim revert in Leamington has opened her heart and home to children in need through fostering. Her journey shows the true spirit of care, love, and selflessness that transcends backgrounds and faiths.

May Allah (s.w.t.) reward her abundantly for her kindness and for providing a safe, nurturing environment for those who need it most. 🤲💛

Could you be a foster parent? 💭

Today it was an honour to attend the recognition ceremony and see the Palestinian flag raised at the newly designated embassy.

Whilst undoubtedly a momentous day, we need an immediate ceasefire, an end to the genocide, aid allowed in and all hostages released.

Today has to be the starting point for Israelis and Palestinians being able to live in peaceful liberty.
