Join us in this prayer for Pentecost from David Long-Higgins

Spark of Life

Holy Spark of Life,
Fan into flame
Your Pentecost fire
And cast its light
Across Your whole creation.

Let it be
A fire of inspiration
Bearing a hope that heals.

Let it be
A fire of consolation
Mending every old brokenness
With surprising new beginnings.

Let it be
A fire of possibility and promise
Spreading surprising hope
In every language known.

Let it be
A fire of strength
Burning deep within the heart
A passion for flourishing justice.

Let it be
A fire of love
Binding everything
And everyone to You
As You arrive unexpectedly
In the one called stranger
Who is never strange to You.

Yes, O Spark of Life
Fan into flame
Your Pentecost power
Dispel every deep chaos
And light our waiting wicks
To bear Your Holy radiance
In every turn of today.

Here…now…yes!

Our Dementiafriendlyheatons Friday group are looking for musicians!

Do you play the piano or know someone who does?

We meet weekly from 13:30 until 15:40 and our friends love singing along and dancing to music. We've got some great entertainers who come along already but are specifically looking for people who can play our piano!

If you can help please get in touch! We are looking for a number of dates that are not always on the 1st of the month!

We're kicking off the Simple Acts countdown by encouraging you to Have a Courageous Conversation ⚡️

Throughout this week, we'll be sharing the voices of refugees & asylum seekers, collaborating with our national partners, and sharing some of the amazing things you're all up to. So, keep an eye out 👀.

Courageous conversations are where we speak from the heart, stand up for our shared values, and listen not just to respond, but to truly build understanding.

When we listen deeply with genuine attention and curiosity, we create space for new ideas and perspectives.

By being present and open, we can discover that beneath our different experiences and languages, there is common ground that unites all of us.

Ways to act simply:

1.) Have conversations that build bridges instead of walls
2.) Find ways to speak our truth while making space for others to speak theirs
3.) Trust that through heartfelt conversation, we can grow in understanding and connection

'Have a Courageous Conversation' is one of nine Simple Acts you can do for Refugee Week (15-21 June). Will you be following the Simple Acts countdown each week?

On Easter Sunday morning, we set out in pairs and walked the quiet path by the River Mersey. We read from Luke 24, asking questions of the text and wondering together what it might mean for us now, not just then.

Like the road to Emmaus, our conversations moved between uncertainty and understanding, and somehow the walking helped the words open up.

When we gathered again at the end, we shared simple breakfast of boiled eggs and croissants, talked about what we had noticed along the way, and sang together.

It was all very ordinary and very meaningful at the same time, as if, in the walking, the talking, the eating, and the singing, we had caught a small glimpse of resurrection life among us.

**Easter Sunday – The Stone Is Rolled Away**

Yesterday the stone was still in place.
Yesterday was silence and waiting.

But today we remember: the stone was rolled away.

Easter tells us that death, despair, violence, and injustice do not have the final word.

Hope has the final word.
Love has the final word.
Life has the final word.

Christ is risen. Hope is alive.
The stone has been rolled away.

Happy Easter.

All are welcome to join us in our Easter Sunday Celebration Service at 10:45, this year led by Deacon Janet Amey.
